Fireworks

Since we're trying to break this board in and nothing's yet been posted in Sounds, here goes:

The other night I lit off this contraption I bought from a fireworks warehouse in PA. It was a Moon Patrol Unit, a high-tech cardboard trapezoidal thing on wheels, laden with weird paper tubes and Chinese symbols.  Its performance was described thus:

"A defensive barrage of red, white, blue and crackling comet tails clears the air for the two helicopters to take off.  Blue fountain flares signal distress and then the vehicle goes into defensive maneuvers including spins propelled by forward and side thrusters."

And that's exactly what happened, things were shooting every which way and blowing up all crazy, only MUCH LOUDER than you'd think, and with a hell of a lot of smoke, like a whole ninja family reunion making a hasty escape.  It drifted the house next door and into the street like fog.

So, Moon Patrol Unit: highly recommended.

Those and the not as high-tech "missile base" ones are great.  They last forever and are insanely loud.  Light off three of them outside a friend's house at 3 am and watch the fun.
