Poetry X Link-Up Contest

PoetryX.com is offering a $250 (USD) prize to our top incoming link referrer from 1 September through 30 November 2006.

What does this mean? It means that in the first week of December 2006 we will look at our incoming link logs and determine a winner based on the number of unique visitors you send from your web site, blog, or forum post to PoetryX.com
How do I enter? All you have to do to enter is place a link to the Poetry X home page (http://poetryx.com/) somewhere on the web where other people can see it and click on it. When they click on the link, our server sees what page the reader was coming from and logs it. At the end of the contest period, the person/site that sent us the most traffic (in terms of unique visitors) wins two hundred and fifty dollars.
Why "unique visitors"? We stipulate "unique visitors" because that way you can't write a script to load PoetryX.com a million times a day. This also makes it so that you don't have to click on the link thousands of times yourself to win.
What if my web site doesn't get that much traffic? That's okay. You can use this as an opportunity to talk-up your own site, too. The more traffic you get, and the more traffic you can send to us, the more likely you are to win.
What if I don't have a web site? No problem. You can post the link anywhere on the web, as long as we have a way of contacting you or finding you should you be the winner. Blogger.com offers free blogs, as well as a number of other places, including MySpace.com, WordPress.com, etc. You can even add the link to your del.icio.us account.

We figure this will be a fun way to spread the traffic around. In addition to the $250, we'll also be posting return links back to the top five referring sites, plus a few other random sites as a way of saying "thank you" right on the Poetry X home page.

To enter, all you need to do is post the following link anywhere on your web site or blog:

You can also just post the link to any forum that allows outgoing links, even by using their link tool. The link text should contain the words "poetry x" and the link must point only to the Poetry X home page at http://poetryx.com/
