Yahoo's fantasy leagues are up for 2007.  I'd be happy to set up a league if we could muster seven or nine or eleven more people to draft a team and stay semi-involved in management over the next seven months.

Anyone?

OH HELL YES.

Seriously, I am in, but only if we have a draft, not one of those auto drafts.

Yeah, I would do this. A real draft would be an OK thing too.

BTW, I suck at these so anyone else would not need to worry about the shame of the cellar.

I figured I'd set up a real live draft.  Those who can't make it would have their choices made for them by the Yahoo Draft Bot, which is what would've happened anyways if we left the whole thing set to automatic.

Please let me know what days/times (including your time zone - I think in terms of Eastern time) would work best for you and remember that the available times fill up quick for free leagues.

I can do anything on weekends or after 6pm Eastern M-F.  I go to bed between 12Mid and 1AM Eastern.

I work or have class until 9 or 10 pm Sunday through Thursday (CST).  Friday nights are probably no good, I would say the best time for my would be 5 or 6 pm CST on a Saturday.  Get a little buzz on during the draft and have it end in time for bar/ party plans later in the night.  I am assuming this will take like 1-2 hours, if we have about 10 teams, is that right?  I am not going to lie, I have never played fantasy baseball, is there a link you could give that explain the scoring process.

Also, I am fairly flexible.  I mean, I can make time for something as important as fantasy baseball.  (there are time slots???)  I guess a secondary option would be like 915 CST on any weeknight but tuesday.

Don't worry about this being my first time though, I will follow baseball close until the last month of the season, depending on whether or not my team is struggling, also school starts up so I have less time (I have had the Extrainnings package the last two years), and I guess if my team is struggling I will be able to use this as an excuse to pay attention in the month before the playoffs.  Also, I am on the internets at least 5 hours a day already, so this should be easy.

Ain't nothin I hate more than fantasy baseball.  I like rooting for teams and rooting against teams, and none of this confused, ghostly, purgatorial facade that is fantasy baseball.

But I'll consider it.

I loves me some baseball, but I already have one fantasy team and that's enough.

My love of baseball has never extended to the realm of roto-sports.

I've never really even considered it. What's the appeal? Sell me on it.

My motivation for fantasy football is easier to explain:  It gives me an excuse to watch games on Sunday that I wouldn't otherwise care about.  "Bengals at Steelers?  Who gives a crap?  Oh wait, I have Chad Johnson!  Sweet!"

For baseball, it's a little more subtle.  It helps that I've been playing with the same group for years.  I want to prove that my knowledge of the game and its matchups is better than theirs.

Did you know:  Thanks to our league's arcane keeper rules (by which you get to carry over 6 players from last year's roster to this year's) and my baseball savvy, I have National League MVP Ryan Howard as something like a 16th-round draft pick.

I've only played fantasy basketball once (finished second!) and fantasy football once (finished second!), but never fantasy baseball. I'd be interested in playing, but I think you all know already which position I'll finish in.

My inner baseball stat geek is definitely interested in this, but until recently I didn't think I could commit to keeping up with everything for an entire season.  Suddenly I have a lot more free time than I was expecting to have.  So, is this still happening?  If the draft hasn't been and gone already I'd like to join in.

I don't think it is still happening.  I am still in, and I guess you are, so if four more people want in we might be able to do something.  Is it too late?  I would set it up if I have to.

I'd do it, but I probably can't do a live draft. I kill at fantasy football. The thing is, I hate baseball, so maybe this would help me like it.
