Maybe Dr. Andretti just wanted to fuck with Pat a little. I mean he's gotten a lot of work because of him. Maybe he got called away from a realy good date when beef got shot or something and took a little revenge.

I dunno, maybe it's my imagination, but between the "End" and Friday's primer I get the feeling Onstad's in a bad mood again like on the August 1st strip.
As for the shock, I think it's like when Fred or Garfield got hit on the head and change personalities, then he'd get hit again and change to another, more normal one. So finally they'd have to bonk him in a controlled manner to bring back normalcy.
Or maybe the two shocks just fucked up Pat's heartbeat.

This is an entirely new Pat, methinks: the Extremely Vocal Cussing Prick instead of the Neatnik Obsessive Prick. How many Pats will the 'stad give us? ... probably not very many, given that he seems to have pulled a Billy-Budd-esque ending to the arc, but hey.
I hope he's not angry at us or anything.
