@achewood I got mad about Robert Fripp's "music" again. I need to go to bed.

What the fuck is that thing? A teratoma that has been fashioned by the pathologist to form some type of animal with eyes?
Ew, dude. Totally uncalled for. Post a link next time with a "gross, NSFW" warning instead of putting the image in your post.

It's a deep ocean giraffe, IIRC (with a silly name to boot, because science can be fun). I'm not usually a "face" person, but this one does linger...

It
does
look disturbingly like a Mr. Saturn fetus, though. And based on a quick
Google image search
he's not the first person to notice this resemblance.

I thought it was kind of cute.

My impression was a mixture between "ewwww" and "... that's sort of cute," too. I mean, you can't blame a deep-sea giraffe for being ugly. That's just Their Way.

There was a child born a few weeks to a month ago without any bones. It was on the morning news, and my SO and I both shuddered when we heard the story. He was born alive, in apparently one of the few cases of this happening, and news story that informed me of this indicated the family was awaiting their son's inevitable death. For some reason, the child in that story is what I thought of when I saw that pic, and thought it was a photo of one of those types of kids. Hence my horrified reaction.

Okay, that's understandable. There is something spine-chilling about the concept of a child being born entirely without bones; I know my mother talked about teaching a girl who was somehow born without functional elbows, and that weirded me out pretty badly. Even within the subcategory of "birth defects that are so bad that the baby will be stillborn or nearly so," birth without bones is eerie.
So... uh... in conclusion, Earthbound was a great game.

I
downloaded
legally purchased a bundle of "the best SNES games" and have been poking around. Some of it is bringing forth nostalgia, some of it is new to me. Mostly I'm relearning that I'm really, really bad at scrolling shooters and always have been.
Anyway, I spent the last couple of hours playing Super Mario Picross. Picross is pretty fun and relaxing. I can do Picross and will not be killed by a bird.
