Did you know...
that someone should really go fix up the Achewood Wiki, the Achewiki, which could serve as a knowledge base for all things Achewood?

I always got a duckling (or two) for Easter which I would then raise for the family table.  One year, when my younger brother was three, he found my duckling in his crate before I had cooped him.  He wandered out in the family room gleefully displaying the duckling by dangling it high above his head in one pudgy fist - by the neck.  I took ducky back to his crate to quitely expire.  Odd though, that I was so saddened by the death of the duckling I fully intended to eat in a few months.

Pain and suffering are inevitable in life; misery is optional. Our hells are custom made for us by our own mind.

If we let it get away with that kind of gangety shit.

This reminds me of a sad story my wife tells.  She was about 6 or so and had gotten a duckling for Easter.  At that time she lived on what was then the extreme outskirts of St Louis in a semi-rural area on an acre or so and she would have been able to raise the duck.

She loved the duckling very, very much.

She took it to bed with her and hugged it and loved it.  When she woke up the morning she had smothered her little ducky.

Seven-sadness.
