Sports & Leisure - a modest proposal

yeah I don't think that Sports & Leisure should be in the same category. Sure, for many people these are in the same category, but for many people, these are not. For me, leisure does not involve anything to do with professional and quasi-professional teams of blokes playing American football, football, baseball, basketball, and so on. These topics are spam to me. Therefore, Sports & Leisure should be split up into two separate categories, and everyone who posts in "Sports" a lot should be banned from the board.

I kind of wish the old-school /b/-tards would go back through BBS and Usenet archives (it is on Google, kids!) and see how it was done back in the old days. Then they could build on that instead of blindly reinventing the wheel.

you can build your own message board and divide the categories as you see fit. in this universe, this is how it goes.

Who was that high functioning autistic who used UBB as his own personal blog, starting threads and then commenting on his own threads? Didn't he have hundreds ot these threads? It was very sad until someone with a lick of sense, I am thinking Wombat because she is sensible and bite sized, pointed out that he was using it as a blog rather than traditional blog software.
Confidential to Mr. Wonderful in Internetland: The original work by Swift had its genius in that it sounded very similar to arguments made at the time, only taken to its logical extreme. The reductio ad absurdum lead people to question their prejudices and preconceptions, and the ground upon which they one had stood ideologically. Saying any old stupid shit and then saying "LOLOL MODEST PROPOSAL" only serves to undermine the lulz here. It is mixing two trolly tactics: absurdity and reduction to absurdity, which are blatantly different things. Troll better. We BELIEVE in you.

Come on, we're all nice people here. Shouldn't we be sympathising with Mr. Wonderful? It's a terrible thing never to have played Trivial Pursuit.
