I mean my dream car would be a 64' Mustang convertible,

Oh, cool choice!

Cool?  Yes.  Functional?  No.

I even saw one for sale a few years back and toyed with the idea...  I asked the guy about the undercarriage (any car that old in my neck of the woods is rusted and waiting to disintegrate) but the guy had actually brought it in from some warm, dry climate down south.  I don't even have a garage where I live now, so needless to say, such an impractical choice is not in the cards for now, but a girl can dream.

Are you talking about the '65 mustang or the extremely rare '64 1/2 mustang?

man, I buy clothes that I think look cool, but a lot of the time my style is "try to look like i do not care that much."
Like maybe my sweater is a little too big, and it's over a plaid shirt that is a weird color, or something.

I don't know.

I guess I am also known to wear like 3 sweaters layered in the winter, under my really heavy coat, so maybe I am more for Function than I think. It looks pretty dorky.

this summer I finally gave in and bought some shorts... normally I only wear jeans because shorts make my legs look stupid.

I never wear shorts, but as a lady I also have the option of skirts and dresses when it gets really hot. Still, usually I wear long ##### even in the summer because it's hard to chase children in a skirt without exposing yourself and I have a hard time remember to "sit like a lady," as my mother would say.

It's not a fashion issue or some kind of insecurity about my legs (which honestly are probably one of my better features), I just hate the way shorts feel.

Threads like this make me glad I work in a place so laid back that long ##### are not required.

Three cheers for the third wave.

A friend in high school had an old Mustang. His floorboards were pieces of cardboard suitcase.

I really appreciate this thread. I haven't bought a suit in over a decade and I've actually begun to dress more casually as I've aged. I'd already made up my mind to build up a better wardrobe once I found a job, and there's some do's, don'ts, and links here that will be useful.

There was one earlier post I didn't quite agree with. The blue blazer with brass buttons is like the fedora. You may (well, probably) look like a tool in one, but you might look great. Depends on the man and the rest of what he's wearing.

hey if you got hair as white as your trousers and turtleneck then by all means don that blazer. or, you know, if you're acting a part in a show of some sort.

If you look like Ted Knight, feel free to rock that blazer as well.

R the Riveter stuff.

I have that Rockwell image as a jigsaw puzzle, and I love it.

Yeah, 'cause I got nothing on how to dress for that occasion.
