I will post to this thread the necessary details in a few days.

There may be reparations for past transgressions and feats of strength involved in registering, so start training up.

The League Has Got No Mercy

ID#388302

I've chosen a live draft for Friday, Sept. 3rd at 12pm PST.

Take a close look at the player and scoring set up, doing so will help you make decisions that will boost your roster value.

I've capped the league at 10 teams, would like at least 8. Playoffs for the top 4 in weeks 16 & 17.

My input window is open for a limited time.

A couple comments/requests:

I'm about 90% sure I'll be on the road or away from a computer the afternoon of Sept. 3.  How tied are you to that date and time?

Only 1 IR slot?

I like the 3 individual defensive players.  Cool addition.

I could see an extra IR slot and I am not married to that date. I like noon PST of any day between now and then.

Noon PST is fine w/ me.  But I (like all the rest of my fellow state employees) am being furloughed on 9/3, which is also the Friday before Labor Day.  So we're headed to STL a day earlier.

Tuesday, August 31st, 12pm PST. Keeping it clear of Labour Day. 2 IR slots.

Wow, they make managing this pretty simple.

So in.

I'm not a fan of 2 DEF/2 QB in a league of 8-10 (if we get that many).  With 6 teams off in weeks 8 and 9, there's a good chance you can get stuck without two options.  Only 1 of those positions means everyone can carry two if they want, and have a choice to make every week.  RB is different because so many teams play two regularly, so it's possible to have enough options there.

I'm also concerned about having 9 positions to fill and only 6 bench spots.  I hesitate to increase the bench because it's better when more starters are either playing or available, so I'd lean towards reducing the number of positions (cutting TE, DL, LB, and/or DB).

How does the IR slot work?  And is it possible to change how the can't-cut list works?  I remember some people getting owned by that last time.

I chose to go with two instead of one at the QB/DEF slots because it forces you to do some roster balancing from the draft forward. Going with just one slot in those positions and playing the non-bye week hot hand seems less interesting to me.

With the emergence of the TE spot as a position coming back into prominence, and some hella good young and old talent at the spot I would like to keep it in play.

The DL/LB/DB spots are something I view as a non-bench need due to quantity available. If a guy busts out the FA/Waiver lines are stocked. If you need a guideline on the type of players to look for in those positions, take a look at how the scoring metrics are weighted for defensive players. There is a bias.

I can turn the can't cut list off but have not. It is chosen according to the Yahoo! rankings. I'm open to influence on turning it off.

As I understand it (possibly incompletely) IR would allow you to stash a player of value on your roster pending his return. In practice, and because of the way the NFL IR list works, this will probably be more useful early in the season by allowing a team to hold onto a player of possible value who begins the season injured but is expected to contribute, in the while preserving bench/active roster space.
