The King of Rock and Soul, that is.

Solomon Burke dies at age 70.

The story grabbed my attention primarily because I saw him just over a month ago in Seattle, and it was pretty incredible. He was wheeled on stage and helped into a throne by two beautiful young women, who turned out to be one his of 21 children and one of his 90 grandchildren. One of his sons also performed. Still had a tremendous voice, and even at his age and with his apparently deteriorating health gave a great vibe from the stage.

Also, too bad he died at the airport and didn't actually make it to Amsterdam to enjoy what the city has to offer before he died.
