I got me some nice New York strips and some thick sliced bacon burning a hole in my pocket. Some combination of the two is going on the grill tonight. I can't decide how I want to do it, though. Any suggestions?

I mean, a basic wrap around the edges and nail it with a toothpick might fly but I'm thinking about going a little gaudier here.

Medium rare is the target, slightly bloody hot meat tonight!

Wrap the bacon up in the steak - that'll keep 'em on their toes!

I'm making spaghetti.

I'm making spaghetti.

I did that last night.

I committed original sin by adding the green beans and zucchini straight to the pasta and sauce, though.

I have pondered doing a butterfly of the steak and laying in the bacon then closing things up. STEACON!

And then inside a Wampa, and take it out to the first marker.

Just sear the steak.  You can't improve on perfection.

If you butterfly it, the bacon won't cook.  Pork fat has a higher melting temperature than beef.  Hot raw bacon - while adventurous - is probably a path best left untrod.

OK, yeah that makes sense of the image I had in my mind of what the bacon would look like if I did that. I guess my subconscious knew what was bad for me in advance.

I'ma cook it somehow and post a photo, later gator's.

I thought you were cutting loose since the spouse wasn't home - what happened to that?

Nothing like a little trichinosis when you're living the bachelor life, you're saying?
