That is so cool. When I go up next I'll swing by there and most certainly report. It's only like 4 blocks from the office and her apartment and right next to the movies theatre she goes about.

I was just watching a little news bit on the guy who runs that cart.  He was basically fantastic- so enthusiastic and kitschy. I don't even like hotdogs and he made me want to try one.

I think that is a destination hot dog stand.  It might take a couple of days, but I'm pretty sure I want to eat every hot dog on that menu.

Update: Spouse is totally aware of Japadog. Apparently, dude always has a line and is popular. She hasn't tried it yet (or the seaweed taco stand) because she's gotten downwind a few times and had a "whoof that is potent" reaction.

But she's a trooper, she's gonna try it in the near future and report back. The seaweed taco stand, on the other hand, is going to wait for me to come up.

Her favourite mobile food joint in the city is Bada-Bing, which is a sandwich wagon. She raves about that one.

I've been informed that Vancouver is so fantastic for food that when I get up there we are not eating in, ever.

Then I made a dirty joke.

Actually, I'm all talk.  There's a new hotdog stand in Houston that I've heard great things about, but have yet to visit.

I guess gourmet hotdog places are a new trend.  I'm all for it.

Japadog reviews are in: "It was interesting. I've never had a hotdog that I could have sworn was a giraffe."

Thanks for the review.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

I finally made it to my local gourmet hotdog place.  I had the wild boar dog, which was good.  I'm not sure I'm down with artisan hot dogs though.  Also, the place was crawling with hipsters.

if it a place can be described as "gourmet" youre either going to dodge hipsters or upper middle-class moms.  or both.
