Title: FOR AUCTION OR FOR SALE DUE TO PUNISHMENT
Post by: St_Zartan on June 04, 2004, 04:02:51 pm
It is, perhaps, unkind to find this fuck*ng hilarious. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8107675670&rd=1) This strikes me as a totally Ray thing to do.

DUE TO PUNISHMENT. That's going in the lexicon.

moms are just so momly:

"SOME TYPE OF MEMORY CARD"

i can just imagine her 13 year old son standing behind her screaming over her shoulder towards the lit screen of ebay: "mo-ommmm, it's not 'some type' it's a 512 block blah blah blah' you aren't doing it right!!!"

sigh.

Mom's English is horrible.  Gotta love it.

I hope the kid strangled her with the controller cord the night before it was due to ship.

THIS IS HOW THOSE STORIES ABOUT 13 YEAR OLD KIDS SETTING THEIR PARENTS ON FIRE HAPPEN

I am totally going to use the phrase "DUE TO PUNISHMENT."

The sad thing is that I've heard about this sort of setup being used for scamming purposes -- say, putting up bootleg Beanie Babies for sale and spinning a tale in the info about how the seller got them from his wife upon the divorce, knows nothing, is just putting them up in a big lot, &c. The idea is that people will big assuming a great bargain, and on the inevitable discovery of bootlegs, the seller will be able to legitimately claim that they didn't claim anything about the pedigree and don't know a damn thing about whatever it was they're selling. This may very well be the saddest thing, although I'm not sure on which side.

Agreed.  I lost all respect for my grade 8 teacher when, prior to my departure to England for the spring break, she pulled me aside and asked me to keep an eye out for a special Beanie Baby available only in the Bizarro-world of Britain.
