I live in a van down by the river!

(Actually a dorm room, but the sentiment and general life quality is the same. Maybe I'll get the pictures of my whiteboard festooned with random dada developed, though.)

OK, not only is your armpit not so bad, but your camera is noticably better than my phone's.

It's kinda dark in here as is, and it's hard to stand back far enough without falling over the drum kit!

That's the behemoth that is on the left of my desk, with it's landing lights on (test mode for the LED's). Possibly cooler is test mode for the sliders, which runs block maneuvres and a sine wave. It's pretty much as wide as my keyboard.
I just got it (http://www.digidesign.com/products/digi002/basics) the other week, and am still learning, but it's already so much more powerful than the setup I had before. Basically, being able to record like a multi-track tape system, but digital and non-linear. It does play a far larger role, seeing as what I'm working on right now is basically industrial, so being able to have all my synth and sampler stuff plugged right in is great, but it's also superb for the production work I'm doing with my mate  for our more conventional band.
Anyway, I'll shut up, I'm just in love with it, especially when I try to do something and discover just how goddamn easy it is!

Asherdan, what is in that cup? It isn't chew-spit, is it?

And you people call yourselves messy. This picture doesn't even show the pile of dirty clothes and trash that sits a few feet from me!

That is a goddamned awesome Batman poster.
I don't have a camera, so just imagine a big pile of stereo equipment, radio antenna taped to the top of my computer, a plate of half-eaten banana pancakes, and a big mural on the wall made of taped-together sheets of paper.
Dorm rooms are swell.

The awesome batman-ness

I can't help it...

'I didn't need plastic to improve my physique. Pure... West...'

'If I do this do you promise to stop taking my water?'

I want to know if Adam West is really that much of a freak, or whether he has just managed to carve himself a genius niche?

'And I'm a man who likes his taffy... mmmmmm, *slurp* mmmm mmmmmm '

Yep.

Welcome to my nasty habit.  Me & Copenhagen are road dogs 'till the wheels fall off.  Which is gonna be real goddamn soon 'cause I gotta give that shit up.

I sincerely do not want to hijack this thread; I just want to say that, in addition to moving, getting married, and changing my name, I also quit smoking (for the second time) after 20+ years. The first time I quit for two years, and started after the train-wreck end-game of my marriage. Taking it up again was my reward.

Deep in the blackest depths of my heart, I know that if this marriage fails, I'll be smoking again that day.

Asherdan, I'm all for you quitting, because I have been there.

Slink and Bozack, I want to live at your house . . . s.

Either way, I just hope he's still in the cast when Family Guy comes back next year.

Bozack's room is terrifyingly excellent and have inspired me to take pictures of my own environs. I'll get the camera developed tomorrow (yes, it's a non-digital thingummy; my rock is very pleasant this time of year) and get things scanned posthaste.

As usual, I'm late to this party.  But, after seeing all the other desks, I feel like a neat freak.

Here's my lab workstation:

this is my desk. my water bottle says "what would devo do?" the note on the wall is a warning to my roomates. it says:

"ATTN!: DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER. IT IS FUCKED. USE MOZILLA AS A BROWSER. ALSO DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY PROGRAMS."

like that helped any. my computer basically has a bad case of high-five.

My old monitor had a large note to myself scribbled, saying 'work, you useless fuck'. I'm not convinced it made any difference.

Okay, I'll ask: were you the worthless fuck, or was that the computer?

. . . but that's the first question that occurred to me, too.

I was. Am. I'm the world's greatest procrastinator. Then again, it was an old and terminally fucked monitor, so it needed some persuasion to work too.

My computer itself is usually in fairly good shape.

But if I didn't need more science, why would I spend so much time in the lab?

What I need more of is science, because I'm not getting very much right now. You must get lots of science! Can you drop some for me?
