New week, new blog thread.

The multiple mentions of the NSTL implie that that's some sort of Mass Transit, but is it something actually in Northern California or is it a new Underground-specific idea being phased in?

I was curious about this as well.  Is the NSTL some sort of Underground Underground?

I Homer voiced that in my mind and choked on my lunch tuna.

I Homer typed it, so things worked as they should.

Nitpicking Sycophants?

Is anybody else reminded of the Emerald Nuts (http://slate.msn.com/id/2108554) series of commercials?

Napalm Slurpee?

This kind of thing is always more fun in concept than in actuality, and for that, I apologize.

What a thought provoking post from Patrick.

1) On a meta-level, in order for Pat to know about something, Chris must know about it, no?  Therefore in a very real, non-aesthetic way each character represents an aspect of Chris's personality.  How geeky is it for Chris/Pat to know/giveashitabout the metabolism of Vitamin E?  Also, my MD says they don't think Vitamin E is so good for you anymore.

2)  Pat is such a DICK.  His little offhand comment about Cornelius still holding a grudge or whatever.  For God's SAKE PAT!  You shot him!  It's not like you recorded over his copy of Futurama or something?  Bullets into the vitals, fluff and stuffing leaking from the fur, shaking hands with death and all that.  Have some perspective.

3)  I love how Pat can be totally sociopathic yet still observe the social niceties.  In one breath he talks about shooting people who dare to ring his doorbell and in the next he wishes us all a Happy New Year.

By the way, Happy New Year to you all.  You too, Chris.

In many ways, Pat is the psychopath that we always expected Nice Pete to be. Nice Pete reminds me of how Jerry Seinfeld describes George Reeves as Superman: he's a serial killer because that's the life he was kind of pushed into. He does it, shrugs his shoulders and bears the burden of being a psychopath, but he's a rather genial fellow. Pat is the inverse: someone molded into a socially responsible mold, but he's really a psychopath.

Patrick Reynolds: Patrick Bateman? You draw the comparison.

I just like that Pat says he's thinking about having the doorbell "uninstalled".

Granted, zinging Ikea is a sort of giraffe-in-a-barrel type endeavour, but Chris does it very well.  Even his amazon wishlist is entertaining.

My head is about to explode.  How can you not love someone who makes even an Amazon wishlist funny?  But... John Denver?  JOHN DENVER?
