I applaud Onstad for being able to write so much dialogue with that weird broken english and not completely break down.

We hate the wait, but the payoff is worth it.

You people at least have to admit the greatness of Ray's face in the last panel.

Yeah, that last panel is great. I have an uncontrollable habit of glancing ahead at panels before I read the dialogue and when I saw that expression for an instant I couldn't imagine what turn in the conversation could change Ray's mood like that.

The comparison to John Henry is awesome, and it sure seems to have gotten to Ray.

Agreed - I love the progression to the last panel - the evolution from Ray having fun with the converstaion to just looking totally crushed.

I'm honestly surprised at the amount of empathy Lil' N apparently has for Japanese-American Jointrolling buisiness man, and impressed as to how he uses this to bring down Ray.

So is Lil' N actually dealing drugs and feeling the sting from Ray and Lyle, or is it just a prank?

i was reading something the other day from this guy who as a child new a serial killer.  discussions go towards others in the same boat.  general consensus was that they, the killers, were either anti-social or _Extremely_ capable of displaying "excellent" empathy.  whether that empathy was real or feigned was being discussed.

however, it was generally agreed upon that whether due to conscious effort or not, the empathy was used in such a way as to produce the results from people that the sociopathic killer wanted.

often times you hear people talking about the latest sick fuck on tv, and you hear them say "man, why did she let him live in her house for 6 months?  that's so dumb!!!.  yet, was she dumb?  was she dumb to be taken in by an extremely charismatic and empathic person who was able, possibly for the first time ever, listen and show compassion?

what i'm getting at people, is that Little Nephew is a sociopath and have you seen the squirrels lately?  or the *****s?  or pat?  or nice pete?

i haven't.

i sure do wonder when Little Nephew saw them last...

seriously, though, i think LN is just messing with ray, because even if LN _is_ selling pot, given his propensity to steal from uncle ray, it's in his best interest for the machine to work, because there will be higher volume, which means:  greater amount to steal.

The latest blog entry would indicate that LN is, in fact, dealing - but that at the moment, Teodor is his only client.

See, this is why whenever I hear people going on about "emotional intelligence (http://www.eiconsortium.org/research/what_is_emotional_intelligence.htm)" I start thinking about successful sociopaths and how they must have just gobs of the stuff.

Love the expression changes. LN is doing a really remarkable job here, even if he is proving himself to be The Littl'st Sociopath.

Also... mmmmm, irregular panels.

Don't worry; he'll flush himself out of Hell soon enough.

EDIT: Assuming he's in Hell at all. It seems to be sort of unclear, since it is heavily implied that as long as you die "for real," you'll go to Heaven. (http://www.achewood.com/index.php?date=12242001) That said, the last time Todd got peeled out on, he went to Hell. What gives? CONTINUITY, MR. ONSTAD, CONTINUITY </anorak>

Seems to me Todd would rather go to Hell anyway. Once you get over the Brat thing, it doesn't seem that bad... especially since he's figured out how to get back and all. I'd rather answer a question from a Friendly's menu then have the murder act commisioned upon me anyday.

Heaven burned to the ground (clouds?) so going to heaven is not an option for anyone anymore.

Am I the only one who reads this strip?  Hello?

Are we sure it was all of Heaven, and not just that one building within Heaven? Seems to me, if all of Heaven came crashing down, and everyone who "collected on a bum ticket" was returned to Earth, there should have been an influx of new characters, not just Molly.

paul is The (proverbial non-gender specific) Man.

i thought of you Paul, this weekend, when i planted my first ever tomato plant at my lady's new house.  I named it Nader.  is that wrong?

also, is chainlink fence an acceptable "thing" for which the tomato plant to entwine within and not fall over?
