Meh... I really only like Phillipe if he's saying horrible things with glee or getting punched by Lyle, so these always leave me with an Achewood hunger that a cowbell won't cure.
Still I suppose calling Karen at Kid's Zoo in Seattle to ask about animal butts can't be all unfunny, it was chuckle-inducing. (Chuckletastic? Chucktacular? Chuckariffic? Actually that last one sounds like what happens when you eat day-old tuna roll)
-
Kudos to the reference to Ultra Peanut. The remainder of this vacillated between unfunny and "i don't get it"..
ObFunLink: abandoning Scandinavian Rap for the moment, let's see what the Indian subcontinent can provide us (http://www.mstream.net/mp3/hindi-mixes/Hype%20-%20DJ%20SS%20-%2019%20-%20Mitrran%20Da%20Hath%20Parke.mp3)....
-
I chuckled at the idea that someone measured average bun length of many animals. Otherwise, eh. I think this joke may be sort of played out.
-
I've totally been there with the spicy tuna roll, Phillipe.
Come to think of it I've been there with the Asian women too.
-
Sweet baby Jesus people. The 1st paragraph is like platinum dipped in diamonds - precious
"Would...you...like...to...meet...God...?"
Anybody? Anybody?
-
Yeah, that was good. Did anyone else notice the "Milklin returns next week"?
Do you think that's a straight up fuck you to us?
-
Yeah, that was good. Did anyone else notice the "Milklin returns next week"?
Do you think that's a straight up fuck you to us?
Maybe he'll return with Thurday's Chicken.

Maybe Onstad will give him a blog.
-
I ordinarily like Philippe's Friday Facts,
but this didn't do much for me.
Sure, the first paragraph was good,
but the others didn't seem to have
the proper Philippean spin on things.
Also, when I read the word 'buns'
I immediately thought of hamburger buns,
as in "hosss are weird! Where did they come from?
Surely dinosaurs didn't have big enough
hamburger buns on which to eat a hoss?"
-
Maybe he'll return with Thurday's Chicken.
I hope so. I mean, how interesting can a religious character be in a world where facts about the afterlife are empirically verifiable? You get the feeling that Milklin would try to convince Ray and Beef that hell is a place of eternal fiery torturous misery and they would just say that it ain't all that bad, you obviously never been there.

I mean he tokes but it's not like his thing or anything

I was supremely happy to see Phillipe Times load up this morning. When Phillipe Times first came about, it was a little annoying, because I wanted a strip, but after going on hiatus for awhile, I found myself wanting to see it again.
That wacky Scott Peterson! Sentanced to Death!

??? I'm taking you to be some combination of ironic and absurdist. I hope I'm right.
I saw the Milklin thing first and perceived it as a central digit extended in the form of salute. To us!
Than I saw the Philippe times and thought "darn"
Then I read it and it had some little glittery bits but it just ain't as good as a strip.
So I have to ask: V - who measures bun length? surely we are talking about bun width/breadth in this context? I mean if I'm looking at some booty, I'm not concerned about how close to the back of the knee it gets (which would be, um, interesting although only in a clinical/freakshow kind of way) but more in the Sir Mix-a-lot kind of way, that is, side to side/front to back - the whole junk-in-the-trunk thang, you know - I mean, if she's a 6'4 Amazon she might have some long hams too but still the interest is in the other proportions -
Just my $.02 on the bun thing, this issue is important socially and should be debated on its merits.

Dawg, it is clear that the winner is based solely on mass (what a mass of gas they pass), and neither actual breadth width or shapeliness.
I mean, I've seen hippo ass, and it's pretty slim on the width side of things.. hell I think elephants would pass them up.
Mass man.. it's all mass.
Please to be excusing me as I just had oral surgery two days ago and am so hopped up on goofballs that I spent most of the morning thinking that I could see the sentences when I spoke them. all hanging in the air like wispy grammar shouldn't.

I agree! Plus, bolding arbitrary text adds The Onion to its pedigree (in addition to Modern Humorist) . I don't understand the last paragraph. I also like the idea of Phillipe sending something in to Reader's Digest, because that section of Reader's Digest is ridiculous.

Few are the women I've admired based on the combination of heaviness of ass and gas produced. A number Ass-ymptotic to the axis, in fact.
By that criteria those joke greeting cards you can buy at headshops and spencer's gifts would be pornography, all folds of flesh spilling over swimwear. I guess you have to imagine the emissions.
If you want.

awww hell.. I wasn't speaking such as my personal preferrence on the backside bongos, just speaking of Philippe's general query to Karen, the Animal Afficionado.
Damn damn damn... there's really no good way out of this corner I've painted myself into is there?
*Imagines a horrible life filled with 'fattie joke strippers' visiting me at all hours as sent by friends who really meant well.. really they did; breaks down sobbing*
-
You know, I didn't think Philippe Times could get much more inane and random, but I guess I was wrong.
What would you say to a ghost voice asking you if you'd like to meet God? How would you address it? "Why, sure, ghost voice"?
Aren't round burgers already curved? Crescent shaped hamburgers are easy to make, just bite into them.
-

You forgot about the part where you pay them to fart on you as well. And your friends will also set you up with girls with 'great personality'. If you like boobs, though, you'll do OK (although the nipples could the size of sunnyside up ostrich eggs and be on the far underside of the boob facing in)
-
Why isn't this crap split and locked yet?
Damn, Dawg. This is imagery I don't want in my head.
I yearn for the days when I was allowed to issue Onion Offense cards.
-
For the sake of my estimable friend and long distance drinking buddy Choop, I'm holding fire.
And damn, man, I was just starting to roll...
-
A roll is like a bun and also very much like a pun.
~Paul
-
I thought it was Jough's roll to point out buns around here.
-
Dammit.. when we degenerate into bad puns another child in the world starves to death for just cents a day.
People.. think of the children please! (Just not while glazing some buns.. have some decency for once!)

Well, I do, but only when my pu$$y hurts.

Well, I do, but only when my pu$$y hurts.
I tell you, you should have someone look at that. Those centipedes can do long-term damage.
-
Christ, does everybody here whine like a woman?
Nope. Just you.
-
Liebot is the greatest. He reminds me of me.
-
Christ, does everybody here whine like a woman?
But I am a woman... I have fluffy bouncey breasts and soft silky skin, and lovely flowing hair. That is what makes up a woman, in case you didn't know. If I were to whine, I would hope, with all these accoutrements, that I would then whine like a woman. And I am certainly not in any way ashamed of being "like a woman." Too bad you are too stupid to even recognise a woman when you meet one. It must be a lonely life for you.
or:
Ha, ha, ha. Fuck you, you fucker! Try to take a look at any other part of the forum and figure out how things work around here before you post an off-the-cuff comment like that. You. fuck*ng. Idiot. You can sure as hell bet your mother whined when she shitted you out. And she probably whines now looking at the waste of space she brought into the world.
Shut the fuck up.
Sorry folks, but I seem to remember concern that we are being soft on the newbies, so it's come to this.

It was a yes-or-no question, bitch.

It was a yes-or-no question, bitch.
Actually, it was a fairly obvious attempt to incite a reaction, just like your post is.
I was attempting to respond in as sarcastically as possible a method as I could. I am not insulted. I couldn't care less. Again, meh.
-
Bitch.

I don't get why people even bother making up accounts and posting just so they get banned. You know how long it takes to ban a user? Like four seconds.
Seriously - it's two clicks.
I know it has to take a lot longer than that to sign up for, activate, and then post obnoxious crap using that account.
So WTF, dude?

I can't even tell what's happening anymore. I can no longer separate fantasy and reality. Sarcasm has died.
Also, I like to talk about my sloppy wet pu$$y as much as anyone, but "bitch"?
Mickey, that's what my father used to call me! I thought you'd be a little more creative than that!

I spoke to my friend Sue the Hippo lover today and she was unaware that Hippo's had the largest buns. However, she's a member of a Hippo appreciation society of some sort with a membership of over 600 and she's vowed to get to the bottom of this matter. I'll report back with her findings as soon as I have them.

Paul knows everybody. Well, everybody who's vaguely scary and weird anyway. Which explains why we all know him too.

See I love you jough, because no matter what, I know two things for certain:
1) you do not tollerate bullshit
2) you love women in their lingerie, not matter what their size.
I always remember these two things, and this is why I make TOUAMB my message board home. Maximum cuddles and bon frotage to you, daddy.
-
Bon frontage-- that's French for "full frontal."

It's not working Bobby. And I'm excited to see it, because the last link you posted still gives me a hard-on just thinking about it.
-
See I love you jough
Oh yeah, you say that now, but I sleep with just one of your friends and you get all huffy with me.
1) you do not tollerate bullshit
I don't tolerate bullshit either. Or typos. ;)
2) you love women in their lingerie, not matter what their size.
Well, within reason. I mean, as a man of gravity I know better than to wear things like speedos or pretty much anything tight fitting. And I expect women of gravity to know where those limits are too, because limits are important.
However, I think my previous point was that women can be sexy no matter what their shape or, um, form. And really, any time a woman whose company you find even vaguely enjoyable trots out in the lingerie for your pleasure I don't see how anyone could complain about such a thing.
I'm not such a huge fan of lingerie as it'll just get ripped off before the action starts anyway (seriously - who was the first jaded man for whom total female nudity wasn't good enough? I ask you!) but I know enough to appreciate it vocally when a woman goes out of her way to play dress up and show an active interest in our sex life.
Did I just reply waaaaaaaay too much to that point?
Anyway, I get mega crushes on literate women with a sense of humour and a forgiving nature (it's a requirement of any potential mate, as otherwise the relationship won't last very long) and lingerie is really immaterial.
Also, speaking of women of "average" builds, has anyone seen the Dove ads with regular looking women (not airbrushed ridiculously skinny models) in their underwear? They are about the hottest fuck*ng billboards I've ever seen.
Also, gentlemen, have you noticed that the Playboy Playmates tend to never be very pretty? They're all big haired and big titted, but dang, Hef and I sure do have differing opinions of beauty.
Okay, I'm rambling because I should be sleeping. But 3AM is still an hour too early for me to go to bed (not really, but I've been going to bed later and later but tomorrow I have to get up early to take care of some things).
Okay, seriously, that's it. Oh wait, there's a little more.
I always remember these two things, and this is why I make TOUAMB my message board home. Maximum cuddles and bon frotage to you, daddy.
Not that I have a Lolita fetish or anything (well, I guess I do adore the Nabokov novel) but it's hell of hot to be called "daddy" like that. But it's hell of cheesy to refer to oneself as "daddy" as in "Who's your daddy?" Yeah. Ultimate cuddles right back atcha.
Must sleep if I'm to function tomorrow/today.
Goodnight, women of all sizes wearing all sorts of things everywhere.
-
But I am a woman... I have fluffy bouncey breasts and soft silky skin, and lovely flowing hair.
I'm having trouble getting past this... also, there is one more thing...
Anyway, thanks for the visual. It's much appreciated.
-
The Dawg has a good point. I have oscillating breasts, soft skin, and flowing hair and it does not make me a woman. It makes me a fat hippie.
edit: breasts with the potential to oscillate. They do not oscillate at all times.
-
... speaking of women of "average" builds, has anyone seen the Dove ads with regular looking women (not airbrushed ridiculously skinny models) in their underwear? They are about the hottest fuck*ng billboards I've ever seen.
See, my coworker is all angry about these ads. She is angry because they are not "average" women at all, but instead ultra-beautiful women of perfectly even proportions, who happen to not be skinny. I don't know what I think about that. When I saw the ads, I really liked them. I think there is nothing wrong with having a "standard" of beauty. After all, their tag line is "real beauty" not "real women." When I saw these ads, I thought - wow, those women are especially beautiful!" Also, part of what makes the dove women beautiful is that it seems the typical fashion model is so damn standardized that they all look like clones with different hair and skin tones.
Also, the Dove Women are indeed women - not children - or made to look like children, which is much sexier in my book.
Also, by SO made and excited grunting noise when I showed him the ad when it first came out.
Well, not that I have a submissive fetish or anything, but it's hell a' nice to be stood up for.
I have to eat another Thanksgiving meal in 8 hours so I need my rest too.
Caio.

Aren't the Dove Women billboards the ones where people have actively been complaining because the women don't look like models, and apparently people believes this makes them visual pollution? Something about "I don't want to look at ugly women during my commute" or something like that? If so, WTF.
-

About a month ago, I was listening to this crazy-far-far right wing radio show where the host was saying that these ads are bad because they are putting forth a "dangerous" idea that these women are attractive. Apparently to him, they are of an unhealthy body weight. WTF?
-
V: Yeah, women complain that they're not "average" women but rather beautiful women who have curvy womanly bodies. I don't think Dove ever claimed they were supposed to be representative of the average woman. Some people probably have complained that you can't see their rib cages because their skin isn't stretched so tightly over them. Also, I would be willing to bet that those women all have their molars.
Oh, and by the way, women: getting parts of your body removed (like teeth and ribs) to make you look thinner does not actually make you look more beautiful.
Then again, I don't like fake boobs. They usually look horrible (hint: the nipple is not supposed to be on TOP of the breast) and even if they look okay, they rarely feel right, and a woman's ta-tas were meant first to be touched (at least that's what Jesus said when I asked him about this).
Well, not that I have a submissive fetish or anything, but it's hell a' nice to be stood up for.
Hell yeah I'll throw down for my peeps.*
I got your back.
I suppose all of the "regulars" are my peeps - but at this time I am unsure as to how many posts or how much length in calendar time it requires for one to move to peepdom.
-
P.S. Imperator Severn, I believe you owe Side_Show, and the rest of us an apology for being such a cretin.
-

See, I wouldn't complain about that; I mean, Dove sells beauty products. Of course they're going to use beautiful models! It's called "classical conditioning." I'm just confused by the idea that beautiful normal-looking women are now considered to be ugly (or unhealthy, which insofar as I can tell is the more culturally acceptable way of calling someone ugly) because of a presence of all-natural body parts &c. That's just getting a little silly.
-
Yeah, I don't think the women in the Dove ads are "plus sized"* as much as they are just not waigiraffe. And I'm pretty sure it's the ad's contention that these women are beautiful (El Guapo concurs).
* Speaking of plus-sized women - there is a chain of stores around here called "Dress Barn Woman" and I don't know if they sell plus-sized clothing or just stuff for smaller womenfolk, but either way, what the hell kind of self-esteem must a woman have to shop at a place called "Dress Barn Woman"? It's like saying "C'mon in, you fat cows, and strap on some feed and some clothing." I do realise that they're trying to go for the "our prices are so cheap that it's like one of those old converted barn places" but dang, the negative connotations alone should give pause to rethink the name of a store meant to actually sell things to women.

The only flaw in your logic is that Dress Barn also sells non-plus-sized clothing, and all the ones I've ever been in had both selections in the same store. Every Dress Barn I've ever been in has been relatively classy, too -- I mean, not a place you go and buy things for your big job interview, but somewhere where you can get reasonably nice dressy casual clothes. (Not a discount place, either.) What possibly possessed them to call it "Dress Barn?" I find myself utterly baffled. Multiple people must have thought this was a good name for a store. How did this happen?
-
I think the most important physical feature is the face. I mean, that's what I look at when I'm talking to someone, and it's what I think of when I think of them. Good body and bad face only works for porn stars.
-
That wasn't an apology, Imp.
Try it again. And be sure to grovel a little. It'll help.
-
I suppose all of the "regulars" are my peeps - but at this time I am unsure as to how many posts or how much length in calendar time it requires for one to move to peepdom.
More than 265 posts, I'm guessing.
But as long as I don't get mistaken for a newbie, it's all good.
-
Hey, just because you're my peep doesn't mean I won't slap you down if you're being a dick to the other peeps.
Also, anyone who has ever sent me a mix CD is my peep.
I have pretty loose rules for peepocity I think.
-
That wasn't an apology, Imp.
Try it again. And be sure to grovel a little. It'll help.
Moi? A Severn does not grovel.
-
Then a Severn does not post here.
The "no groveling" and "posting here" things mutually exclusive, dig?
-
That reminds me: Jough, I owe you (and several others) mix CDs. This will be rectified by the end of the semester.
-
Oh, I get it now.
I called sideshow a bitch. Let it be known that I am not of the opinion that she is a bitch. I just thought it would be funny to make an angry little reply at that point; unfortunately I forget that I don't have any cred in this forum yet, so as far as anyone knows, I'm just a little asshole with nothing better to do than insult people over the interweb.
I'm a jocular guy-- a japester, if you will. Just ask anyone who knows me.
So I grovel at your feet and ask for forgiveness. And where did you get those shoes? They're to die for!
-
Ah, see now we can move on to the stage where I don't have to ignore you any more.
Prepair yourself for chiding and chicanery of the highest order.
Steel your ego, and prepair for implications that you smell bad, that your sexuality is questionable, and criticism of you spelling and grammer by people with spelling and grammer no better than your own!
-
Prepair?
Is that like a pair before the actual pair? Some kind of a priori pair?
Also, when I think of the word "pair" I think of someone saying "nice pair" which makes me think of breasts.
Also, note that pretty much everything makes me think of naked women.
Also, note that I've been writing "Also," a lot lately.
-
I like pears. And the word "chicanery."
-
Wow, now Jough has his own personal peepulation. Because that's how he rolls.
I totally don't get most concepts of beauty. Fake boobs are nasty, plucked (or god forbid, threaded) eyebrows look ridiculous, and don't even get me started on fuzzy boots, giant sunglasses, and floppy hats. What's really depressing how many women I see at the mall where my first reaction is "how about a little face to go with that makeup?"
-
Fuzzy boots... giant sunglasses... and a floppy hat? That pretty much describes my grandmother.
Also, threaded eyebrows? What is that?
-
Also, threaded eyebrows? What is that?
Soon you'll learn to not ask such a question. You're just inviting Bobby to throw acid in your face. Do you want what happened in the Titty Twisters (http://achewood.plagiarist.com/viewtopic.php?p=45431#45431) thread to happen here too?
Do you?
~Paul
-
You know what I find most ridiculous? Women who shave off their eyebrows completely and then paint them back on. They constantly look surprised.
-
Also, threaded eyebrows? What is that?
Yeah, I had to Google it. Ouch.
Agreed, of course, on all the silly-looking trends. Walking around campus I want to punch basically everyone for how god damned foolish they look.
-
i recently reread a phillip k dick anthology and was grotesquely amazed at what a horrible writer he was, but what good stories he came up with.
anyways, he has this story that is set in the FUTURE where people had become so aclimatized to the adverts of nice teeth and deodorant and whatnot that society had broken down to two separate political parties: one for the removal of sweat glands, the perfectness of hair, and the artificial whitening of teeth and the other party for, um, i guess being slobs.
they would beat each other up, and stuff. i really don't think he was a good writer. his dialogue is painful. anyways.
sometimes i feel an irrational need to put on deodarant, and sometimes i see someone who has plucked their eyebrows off and then drawn them back on with a pencil and i want to break something, like fred durst's head.
does anyone else watch America's Next Top Model? that show is, um, something. anyways, they have(had? not watched in a couple weeks) a normally sized human being contestant this time.
at one point, one of the criticisms for that contestant by the panel was that she was trying to act like a skinny model. the main model chick was all "when you interviewed, you were all 'i'm me, and i'm happy yada yada', why are you all acting like you are somehting you are not where is the person i met yada yada".
everything else aside, which is a lot given the nature of the show i know, i think that's pretty telling on the state of "beauty" in our society.
someone who is comfortable enough with their non-standard model body goes on to a modelling contest show and is all "i'm comforable with my body!!!" yet when the crunch comes down and she starts doing modelling stuff, she's not all that comfortable with her body.
me? i shower with a blind-fold on.
everything else
-
I have a mirror in my shower. On one hand, I think it's sort of cool.
On the other hand, it makes me wonder who installed it.
And why.
-
Is it at waist level or eye level?
I had one in my shower at head level so I could shave in there.
-
It's a little low to shave with without squatting, but not so low that you could... shave with it.
-
It's a little low to shave with without squatting, but not so low that you could... shave with it.
So what you are saying is that the previous showerer was either a little shorter or WAY taller than you.
-
Or inordinately interested in his/her navel.
-
Also, threaded eyebrows? What is that?
Yeah, I had to Google it. Ouch.
Agreed, of course, on all the silly-looking trends. Walking around campus I want to punch basically everyone for how god damned foolish they look.
I know about threading because there's apparently one place in DC that does it (well?) and people are constantly writing in to the Post asking where it is.
As for fashions I try to only buy things that I think I'll still be able to wear in 5–10 years. Otherwise it's just a waste of money and you look like a damned fool. I did get into the whole non-sensical t-shirts thing about 3 years ago and now that's over so now I have these shirts I can't wear without feeling silly. Thanks a lot, Diesel Sweeties.

...Plus I got depression?

I think the Dove chicks are fine (and I don't mean "fine" like "just OK," I mean "fiiiiiiiiiiiine"). Especially the brunette who's looking back over her shoulder.

I was looking for a link to post about the Dove chicks but I can't find a copy of the ad online (at least, not a decent quality one that's bigger than a postage stamp).
Also, how long will it be before the "postage stamp" measurement has no analogue? Like the breadbox.

Here ya go. (http://img.slate.msn.com/media/1/123125/2065969/2111765/2123729/050801_arc_doveAdStacy_ex.jpg)
Slate article on the Dove campaign (http://slate.msn.com/id/2123659/), with a link to the campaign's site itself (which is all Flash an' shit).[/url]

God, that Slate article was pretty dire. I mean, as I see it, the scary part is that this shouldn't be at all surprising. It's kind of odd to see people patting themselves on the back for finding these women attractive. Of course they are! Does anyone actually think the regular models, the ones who look like angry junkies, are hot? Seriously?
And what is firming cream, anyways?

Snake oil...promising to give your thighs that special "airbrushed" quality, without which today's man will not give you a second glance.
-
I've been using it all wrong then.

No, not that firming cream.
-
Isn't that numbing cream?
-
Dammit..and all this time I've been using it as shaving cream!
I suppose it could be worse. I could be filling my twinkies (http://www.spotthefrog.net/twinkies.jpg) with it.
DON'T BLAME ME! I DID NOT FORCE YOU INTO CLICKAGE!

My friends in high school called that Swedish Stay-Hard Cream. I think it's different from firming cream, or would be if there was such a thing.
