Much better than the last few. It is hilarious how Ray dismisses allegations of the existence of 3 AM news.
PS: You know its bad when Lyle -- fuck*ng Lyle -- has to tell him about it. On the other hand, his attention was immediately diverted to Ray's comic, so it works out.

3) it seems inconsistent that lyle can speak coherently/operate a phone at 3 AM

I loved this strip. It's a funny strip.
I would have mad respect for Onstad if he made it all the way through this story arc without Ray actually finding out what's happening with Little Nephew. Maybe we'll find out in his blog that he discovered LN's adventure afterwards when he, e.g., got mad rutty again with the social worker. But if he turns on the TV now, after all this denial and misdirection ... well, it'll be disappointing.
But for now, my only question is this: who will call Ray next?! My guess: Chucklebot.

I really like how "What If They'd Met?" is just one small step up from the dragging-a-JPEG-of-a-motorcycle-across-the-desktop tricks of old. Ray don't get too technological, yo.
