I didn't really expect him to post a strip today, but how is today different than any other day for him?

Of course, his sugar-mama wife could have off of work today and maybe they could be spending time together.  I hope he's not just drinking and watching cartoons.

Maybe he has extra paces on the waterfront today. The job he took recently put him on the short end of the schedule so he's stuck working holidays.

i was going to email him about the wrong holiday, but i imagined he was just being "avant garde".
