How long has it been since we've had a Roomba cinema strip? Too long.
-
I honestly don't get the reference.
-
I loved it. Where did the Jack Nance hair come from? Was it scrawled on the wall behind Beef in phosphorescent paint so it only showed with the lights out?
-
I've never seen eraserhead so I am totally lost.
Beef looks furious in the first few panels though, totally cool.
-
I say "hell yes" to a new installment of Roomba! Cinema and to Eraserhead. I think Beef is wearing a wig or possibly a mask/wig. Don't know if they sell Nance masks in Halloween shops...
What might Friday hold in store? A "Would Somebody Please Fuck Pat" Friday?
-
It is not for us to ask "how and why is this happening?" This is a cartoon. About talking animals. And Eraserhead. It is only for us to watch, and be puzzled and/or disturbed.
I feel disturbed in a good way over this one.

man so iconic

Once a year, I get drunk in a darkened house for a week.
I get drunk and watch...Eraserhead.
As we all do, I think?
It's my vacation.
Once a year I have a little black and white drunk-a-thon. No phones; not a single luxury. My horoscrope has been suspended.
Loud, industrial noises.
The first two days I just watch. Well, I *drink* and watch...Eraserhead.
The third and fourth day I find myself pacing, circling the TV, looking at the glow from behind. I'll pause for a pizza. I won't eat it; I just order it to prove I'm still -- in control. Eraserhead.
By the end of the week, I interact with this majestic little film.
Not so much words as -- gesticulations. I kiss the screen. I rub my buttered belly on the screen, as I think we all do sometimes.
I roam around the house. The darkened, drunken house.
Sometimes, and this has got to be an hour before dawn, I put a rose up my bum. You know, the business end sticking out. And I sort of improvise a playful dance in my surroundings: "La la la la la la la Eraserheeead." If you were there, in my house, you could follow a trail of those rose petals, and they would lead to me, curled up, fetal position, quivering, crying, my teeth chattering, industrial, Eraserhead-type noises coming from inside me. And as you pick me up, and wrap me in a blanket, my vacation would be -- complete.
This behaviour might disturb me if Eraserhead weren't such a fine little film.
Don'tcha think?

I am always happy when a recurring theme comes back out of nowhere.
-
Another take (http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=695) on Roomba.
-
dude, roses have hell of thorns. So I guess that's like being penetrated by a tiny barbed c*ck.

Oh, Turbo Ninja... see I was impressed by your post, then I got to your tiny link, and now I'm just disapointed in you.
Anyway... big fan of Eraserhead... big fan of Achewood... not a fan of this strip...huh.
Also, basically, if you are one of the people who posted they haven't seen Eraserhead, you basically must see it. Halloween is coming up. Rent it for Halloween. And know that the lady in the radiator is dancing around real baby placentas. Ones David Lynch got from the hospital.
-
oh, and when you rent it, you must watch ALL of david lynch's interview.
and play with dead cats pierced with long strands of wire.

Mom? Zat'choo?

Tips for Eraserhead: don't watch it with anyone else. Don't watch it while any one else is your friend. Don't watch it while tired. Don't watch it in the daytime.
Don't watch it with your significant other. If you want David Lynch for couples, go with Blue Velvet.
GET READY TO FUCK.
-
automaton_deity: LOL - tiny cans for you, sir.
This strip was pretty good. I've always liked the roomba strips.
-
For the Lynchheads interested in knowing the sad fate of poor old Jack Nance:

The topic of Nance and Eraserhead are of particular interest to Frank Black (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/f/frank+black/i+gotta+move_20055059.html) (Black Francis) (http://www.lyricsdepot.com/pixies/in-heaven-the-lady-in-the-radiator-song.html).
I, personally, enjoyed Nance in Twin Peaks. "A giraffe... In the Perc-o-later!"

Haven't yet seen Eraserhead, need to, am still fascinated by this strip. Beef's dedication, Teodor's hesitation... perfection. I don't even need to know what that object is, besides that it's pretty damn creepy.
-
It is some kind of mutant baby, and it is incredibly disconcerting.

Quoted for truth. Every film of David Lynch's that I have seen has scared the holy hell out of me. Except for the tailgating scene in "Lost Highway." That was pure comedy gold. I loved it.

Oh, also, for anyone who cares, the second (and final season) of Twin Peaks is being released in early 2007. Lynch has been working on cleaning it up him self. Should be sweet. I think I'll just take a holy hell of a vacation and watch every fuck*ng episode back to back for a couple of days. Hell yeah. Coffee, donuts and pie all required.

Thank fuck for that. About time. And I think your plan is about right. Cherry pie that'll kill ya!

I used to travel through the area of Snoqualmie Falls. I stopped in at the diner once. They do not care for people whom what say "Damn Fine Coffee" and such.
I think they've heard that a few times too often.
