This made me think. Why don't I ever get to bite the snakes? Why is it always the other way around? I guess because I'd get fired. Dang.
-
Really though, if you come to a point where you know your job is coming to an end you should seize the opportunity.

Is Ray discounting the strength of such martial artist greats such as Bruce Lee and Hong Kong Phooey?
I mean brothers are clearly strong, but don't we all remember what happened when Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabar crossed fists?
But yeah a bicycle with no wheels... a zopicycle?
So many questions but no answers...
Plus, props on sad Ray face in panel 5.
-
but don't we all remember what happened when Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabar crossed fists?
Um, we do?
-
Yeah, Kareem hella kicked Bruce Lee's chest in, but ghost of Bruce Lee snapped his neck.
-
Ray's remote is purple.
-
What?
-
Ray's remote is purple.
What the hell kind of monitor do you have? It's just black-and-white on mine.
-
It doesn't look purple anymore.
Sorry.

And let us not forget Bolo Yeung's mighty Chinese frame:
Hard to believe the dude was 50 when he made Bloodsport.
-
Every Chinese person knows that it isn't the young Chinese men who have all the strength, it's the old ladies. They're so mean and vicious, and they punch HARD. (This is from personal experience.)
-
Not chinese but definitely within the "Eastern bodyframe": http://youtube.com/watch?v=GCCmzQSsvHY (http://youtube.com/watch?v=GCCmzQSsvHY)

Did you check the link I provided, Beatrice? There might be something in there for you...

I'm just a huge fan of the absurd humour of... projecting human racial and national politics onto housecats and stuffed animals.
It's the layer under the surface gags that holds it up, not unlike in a french onion soup. Sure, the melty bread-cheese is really the reason you're there but, if not for the soup beneath, we'd just be eating crazy bread out of a fancy bowl.
-
I am wondering: is there some not-gross way to eat that bread cheese? Because it all sticks together, and it's so tasty, but it's hanging out of my mouth, and I try to cut it but it just stretches, and oh god why is everyone laughing I'm just trying to eat the goddamn soup why are french people such assholes about making food goddamit
-
Im pretty sure you're suppposed to break the bread up like croutons and eat it with the soup. Or that's how i always have done it and no one really laughs at me too much.
-
wait, but like, it all sticks together! it is 90% cheese!
-
What?

-
Yeah, what kind of super hard/rubber-y cheese are you being served?
I've never been served French onion soup where the cheese infused bread was so hard as to not be conquered by the side of the spoon, or a knife if I'm feeling especially jaunty.
My problem with French onion soup is the way the cheese traps in the heat. I mean, I've been served French onion soup where the under-lying liquid is of such a temperature that it should basically be vapor. It's, like, scientifically impossible for the soup part to be as hot as it is and still be liquid, but somehow, by magical cheese magic, it remains liquid. Sure, being sensible and not confined to a nut house where sharp spoons or basic butter knives are banned (as I assume is the case with theinev) I hack that cheese bread up, but the tantalizing cheesy-ness and the savory aroma make it hard to resist immediately tasting a spoon full, and then I've burned my tongue and ruined the rest of the meal because I can't taste anything.
To summarize: my problem is excessive heat + lack or restaint.
Also, cartoon cats.
-
Burma.
-
hm. um, what? I don't know. I always have issues with the cheese.
-
Burma.
Still not in India!
-
Still not in India!
The hell? Why do you associate Burma and India in such a synonymous way? I know I'm kind of being a dick but if August had said 'USA' you wouldn't go 'Still not in Canada!' Christ, at least they share a large border, whereas the mighty country of Bangladesh puts rather considerable distance between pretty much all of India and Burma, so there's even less in common! As I'm writing this I'm telling myself off for getting so fuck*ng pedantic about something so small, and I know you didn't mean it like that, V. Think of this as a general rant which is definitely not directed at you, because I know you're a decent person. You know what, have a can, 'cause I'm being such a bastard.

Oh, man. I thought you read the archives. (http://touamb.com/index.php/topic,2950.0.html)

If you scroll down you'll see I posted in that thread; hell, it seems barely weeks ago. I understood the context of what V-Adore said, I was just confused as to why mentioning Burma would invoke the 'No India yet' reaction. Of course, now that I've calmed down a little it makes more sense. That's pretty crap of me.
-
J-J-Judy don't you get that to us 'mericans anything outside our border is basically the same but different?

Heck, never mind the border. I'm from the East Coast - New York, even - so everything between here and California is basically a blur.
But I happen to know the difference between Burma and India because we have Burmese and Indian restaurants on the same block in my neighborhood. They don't eat tofu in India.
-
They don't eat tofu in India.
The same but different, see?
-
For the record: I posted "Still not in India!" because it seemed the proper non sequitur to balance "Burma" as a non sequitor. I am well aware that the fine countries of Myanmar and India are not culturally or geographically congruent. THAT IS ALL.
-
The only place Burma holds in my consciousness is the knowledge that there used to be a brand of shaving cream called "Burma Shave" and they would advertise along roads in a series of one or two word signs that laid out the ad over the course of a mile.
Sort of like "Lost" except that it made sense.
-
THAT IS ALL.
PANTIES meet BUNCH
-
V's comment made perfect sense because Burma is a long way towards India, but still not there.

Just because you're right doesn't mean you couldn't have punched up that post a little...
"The Mod with the googly eye made a pass at a TOUMB trope in jest and the oddly named englishman took exception and then admitted it was his own internal bastardness contritely. Retroactive cans for all"

Dude, you should see if Onstad is still hiring for alt-text writers. You've got that style nailed.

Very nice, mate. Extra points for the word 'bastardness'.
Though, how did you know I was English? There's plenty of non-English folk throughout the world who type in a ridiculously over-affected way.
-
Indeed, English majors such as myself.

On the Internet, nobody knows you're a pedant.
No, wait. On the Internet, everyone knows you're a pedant, all the time.
