Now that Beef is involved, (http://www.achewood.com/index.php?date=03132007) things will get done for real.
-
man, I am digging this turn of events.
-
I would've gone with the title "wet, cheap anus"... but that's neither here nor there.
The idea of Beef being Ray's secret weapon is one of the Great Things about this strip.
The two of them are a beautiful dicotomy.
Ray has the resources to buy cities whole but is too distractable and too much a dabbler to know how to use them. Beef has the knowledge to cripple a nation but unless his anxieties (or Ray or Molly) are pushing him around, he's gonna sit around playing nerd games in his head.
But together. Together, Two Dudes From Small Times can accomplish a lot.
-
I felt like this whole strip was building up for an awesome punchline at the end - something that did not occur. Instead we get dreaded continuity! But I can live with that. Beef should definitely take this arc into an interesting direction.
-
I love Beef and his ability to decode anagrams from things that disgust him.
I wonder why he's wearing a button down shirt? Did he and Molly just get back from a wedding and to recuperate he has to spend some time in a darkened room by himself? Maybe Beef's a highly sensitive person (http://www.hsperson.com/) and therefore needs some time to calm his shattered nerves. I know I do.
-
Beef's lookin' pretty svelte these days. I guess he's on the S.O.-S.A.D. Dammit Eat Some Peanut Butter Or Something Diet.
-
Wet cheap anus is even worse than regular cheap anus
-
All anus is equally bad.
I thought we covered this.
-
Ray doesn't know what the hell he's getting himself into. Dudes get murdered over spam these days. Gang warfare erupts over control of botnets. The hottest spammers are also not in Africa but in Russia, where serious men eat snow and throw cats at walls. I fear for their safety.
Either that, or Little Nephew is in for a hell of a grounding. Either or.
How odd that Roast Beef can use his wireless connection to mess up Monsieur Sumbitches, but has to physically infiltrate Yahoo headquarters to delete a personals add. Continuity works in mysterious ways. I like the skinnier Beef, though. He reminds me of the original Dirtiest Dudes strips back when the cats still looked like actual cats standing on their hind legs.
-

Definitely, if only so we could amuse ourselves by looking at the board activity page and seeing how many disappointed Guests were looking at it.

Shhh! Dramatic license!

To be fair dude 802.11n protocols hadn't been invented yet back then.

For me, it is Morgan Freeman that narrates the fine posts of littlefallsmets, and this is something I greatly enjoy.

YES
-
I am very disappointed that it took this many posts to get to the list of anagrams (http://wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=cashew+peanut).
I think Beef sometimes codes on a consultant basis. He must be wearing the shirt because he had to visit a client on-site today.

I would've gone with the title "wet, cheap anus"... but that's neither here nor there.
The thought did occur to me, but I couldn't bring myself to type the words.
-
Beef has the knowledge to cripple a nation
Sigh. Now I want to have the knowledge to cripple a nation...
*storms off room, sulking*
-
Wet cheap anus is even worse than regular cheap anus
Oh really now, that is totally dependent on what you are going to do with it, surely.
-
PHAT NEW SAUCE
WHAT UP, SENECA? U WANT PEACHES?
A ACNE SPEW HUT.
Heh, gross. I would not want to live there.
-
WE SHAPE A CUNT
Now there is an anagram that does not just sound like it belongs on the cashew peanut anagram menu.
There is the iron-cast foundation of the whole restaurant.
-
WE SHAPE A CUNT
Now there is an anagram that does not just sound like it belongs on the cashew peanut anagram menu.
I was waiting for someone to realize that one of the most offensive words in the english language is included in the anagram list.
-
EACH ANUS WEPT
-
WE SHAPE A CUNT
EACH ANUS WEPT
While we're being vulgar:
CHEW A APE'S NUT
Not particularly well-arranged as an anagram, though. Sounds like the title of a Wesley Willis song.
-
An anagram for "anagram" is A MAN RAG.
-

SEW APE CUNT, HA!
I see your simian genitalia, and raise you simian genital mutilation.
-
What the hell is a wet peach anus?
HA, SCAT WEE PUN
Poo! Hahaha! Pee! HAHAHA!
-
An anagram for "anagram" is A MAN RAG.
An anagram for "An anagram for "anagram" is" is "An orgasming ma ran afar".
-

I thought we covered this.
Anus, toilet paper.
Anus, toilet paper.
Circle gets the square.
-
A-HA CUNT WEEPS
-
APE CHEWS TUNA.
I love this thing.

For me, it is Morgan Freeman that narrates the fine posts of littlefallsmets, and this is something I greatly enjoy.
Oh damn that is quality. That is real good.

Huh.
At first, I thought you said Morgan FAIRCHILD. Such as the woman voted Sexiest Woman in America by People Magazine in two different years of the James K. Polk presidency and is... somehow still alive.
And I read a few of my posts and I was like "All right. It's a weird choice but I see it."
But now that I know you meant Morgan FREEMAN, you're really close to what I actually intend.
When I start writing in fever-dream flourishes, as opposed to Conversational Internet, I'm writing imagining it being read by a different actor from Shawshank Redemption. When I start getting outlandish, it sounds like it is being read by veteran character actor James Whitmore.
The dude who played "Brooks the Old Guy" in Shawshank.
Specifically, when he did the voicework for Mark Twain in Will Vinton's mid-Eighties Claymation epic "The Adventures of Mark Twain" which is both the darkest most fucked-up children's movies ever and one of the ten best movies ever made.
But you got that it was a Shawshank actor. That's surprisingly close to the target.
Go back and read it with that voice in your head. Cool, huh?
Tangentally, when I am talking in Conversational Internet, I intend to sound like Adam Goldberg's character in "Dazed and Confused", Mike Newhouse. That's probably less interesting, though.

Seriously, though - do you presently have like a 106 degree fever?
-
No one piece of literature or media in any form has gone more towards shaping my personality than "The Adventures of Mark Twain". Parents of TOUAMB, if you want your kids to turn out like me, make sure that they see that film many times when very young...
Much too young to understand a movie about an old man attempting to fly into the heart of a comet on a steampunk airship and commit suicide because he can't live anymore now that his wife is dead.
Oh... and his dark side is manifest on the airship, trying to stop him from committing suicide because his dark side doubts if there is an afterlife. Oh... and the children who stow away on his ship run into Satan, who builds and slaughters a village before their eyes.
And the love story of Adam and Eve is heartbreaking told through the spectrum of that suicidal widower's mindset. And a scene where his dark side plays a pipe organ where the airholes on the pipe are the faces of wailing damned souls.
Have your six year old watch that a coupla times a year and check out what happens.
You will know it is working because your child will be awesome.
-
I think if you just click my link above, you will know that your children must watch it.
-
I think it says something significant about me that... I am scared to watch this thing Now. as a legal adult.
-
I am taking some e next week.
I think I shall rent this.

Hey all. I'm new to the board, although I was briefly on the original, Onstad-approved achewood board. I was just wondering if any of you caught the changed alt-text on Tuesday's strip. I didn't save the original or anything, but I guess it could've been deemed offensive (the whole "mud computer" thing). Anyone have the original text and/or have speculations as to why he changed it?
-
Huh, that's a trip. Might have been that it could be considered offensive, I guess. Hope he's not losing his edge. Also, welcome.
-
I dunno...
I read the change as more a reaction to the fact that he was clearly hit with a lot of e-mail pointing out that there are other anagrams... and used the alt-text as a tool toward pointing out that he knows that fact and was merely using that misunderstanding toward comic effect in Beef's characterization.
I mean, the strip has certainly gone further in racial humour than that without giving an inch.
-
OK, forget my useless remark about the missing mud computers. I just watched the "Adventures of Mark Twain" clip and it totally bewildered me. I thought the most f*cked-up thing a kid could have watched growing up during the '80s was "Time Bandits".

I'd be surprised if he didn't know that there are other anagrams beforehand, but I've been wrong in roughly this same situation before - with that Steely Dan/Steve Miller thing.
Turns out this was my 2000th post and I didn't notice. It's lucky it was coincidentally so momentous
-
I forgot to mention that the mud computer reminded me of the little car that's made out of clay. (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/86/86dadobe.phtml)
