This article is awesome. Sgt. Podge sounds like a rad little guy.
Cat's daily routine baffles owner
Podge's daily ride
A cat is baffling his owner by wandering off at night before expecting to be collected by car every morning at exactly the same time and place. Sgt Podge, a Norwegian Forest Cat, disappears from his owner's home in Talbot Woods, Bournemouth, every night. The next morning, the 12-year-old cat can always be found in exactly the same place, on a pavement about one and a half miles (2.4km) away.
His owner, Liz Bullard, takes her son to school before collecting Sgt Podge. She said the routine began earlier this year, when Sgt Podge disappeared one day. Ms Bullard rang the RSPCA and began telephoning her neighbours to see if anyone had seen him. An elderly woman who lived about one and a half miles away called back to say she had found a cat matching Sgt Podge's description. Ms Bullard collected him but within days he vanished again. She rang the elderly woman to find Sgt Podge was back outside her home.
She said a routine has now become established, where each morning she takes her son to school before driving to collect Sgt Podge from the pavement between 0800 and 0815 GMT. It is thought Sgt Podge walks across Meyrick Park Golf Course every night to reach his destination. Ms Bullard said: "If it's raining he may be in the bush but he comes running if I clap my hands." All she has to do is open the car passenger door from the inside for Sgt Podge to jump in.
Wandering the streets
Ms Bullard also makes the trip at weekends and during school holidays - when her son is having a lie in. She does not know why, after 12 years, Sgt Podge has begun the routine but explained that another woman who lived nearby used to feed him sardines, and that he may be on the look-out for more treats. "As long as you know where they are you don't mind as a cat owner," Ms Bullard said. "I know where to collect him - as long as he's not wandering the streets."
Back at home, Sgt Podge has breakfast before going to sleep by a warm radiator.

Cat just wants to take an early morning constitutional. Nothing wrong with that.
-
What's amazing here is not that the cat runs away every night, but that it's trained it's owner to play fetch.
-
Podge has done an excellent training job, indeed.
-
I liken this to a cheating spouse. Cat is just looking for what he cant get at home. Maybe if this woman would whip up some sardines at home once in a while, The Podge Man wouldnt be on the prowl.

the other day at our huge radio meeting, I met a nice little cat. His name was Mr. Underfoot.
That name is horrible, but he was a rad little guy. He liked being petted by me.
-
Ohhhhhh...
Mr. Underfoot, he's a radio cat!
If you didn't know,
Well, that's that!
Sing it and swing it, Jonesey.
-
My favorite part about all of this is that the cat is named Sgt. Podge. That is an awesome name.
"Sgt. Podge has mounted a military expedition. His goal is the nice lady who used to give him sardines."
"Sgt. Podge is reconnoitering the area."
"Sgt. Podge is hereby awarded Victoria's Cross for intrepidity in the search of treats."
...I'll stop now.

Sgt. Podge approaches the door of a mother whose son was lost in the Great Mousing Wars to inform her of the loss.
When she saw a cat in full military dress gear and she already knew. She was crying before Sgt. Podge could even knock on the door.
Sgt. Podge goes home, back to the base, and kisses his children as he tucks them in at night.
Will they ever get that visitor? In a generation's time, will he get that same kind of visit regarding his own children?
He crawls into his own bed, next to his already sleeping wife and eats two pawfuls of catnip.
It's the only way he can sleep anymore.

I will see your wandering cat and raise you four orphaned baby owls who have taken a stuffed owl as their new mom (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=452482&in_page_id=1770).

And I counter with a dog that just married a man in India. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071113/ap_on_fe_st/india_man_weds_dog;_ylt=AqtUV7.fmTdevviJXAdpOjis0NUE)
Sure it's a clever cat who trains its owner to pick it up in a car everyday, but he hasn't convinced her to marry him.

damn, dude, I don't think I had ever seen an owl until I was walking back to my dorm last thursday... there was a little baby owl, or else some sort of pygmy owl, just sitting there on this branch looking at me. that was nuts. They're so... cool looking. he was probably 2 feet over my head?
