This strikes me as thread-worthy (did I miss a topic elsewhere?): the very first (and NSFW) "Achewood" page, from 2001:

EQUALLY IMPORTANT NOTE: For some reason, this page is also choked with NSFW porn-spam, which seems oddly appropriate. But there's a lot of material here I'd never seen before, and lo it is raw.

So that (http://achewood.com/index.php?date=02152002) was the tragedy!

Strip #5, and everything after #21, won't load for me.  Are those ones just forever lost to the mists of time?  It looks like Onstad dipped back into these early strips on slow days after he'd officially started the comic; some of them are identical to strips in the archives, and it looks like this (http://zonker.stanford.edu/~boy#####/achewood/strip_13.gif) eventually got recycled as this (http://achewood.com/index.php?date=11012001) once he'd thought up a better punchline.  An interesting find indeed.

If you take the rawdataserver.com stuff off the front of the url it takes you to this (http://zonker.stanford.edu/~boy#####/achewood/) Achewood homepage (sans porn-spam), perpetually frozen on October 8, 2001, although the strip shown is the one for October 2.  There is also a link to a very early "about" page, which I have never seen before.  Do any of the old hands around here recognize it at all?

Edit: I got rid of all the porn in my links, but you'll still have to manually type in the "boy ###-bot" part of the url for it to work.

No, the tragedy is the one or two weekdays a week that don't bring a new strip.

Clearly, the pizza slices should be pointing away so that you can easily grab them by the crust. 

Boy, you can really see how Onstad has grown as a writer since then.

If you click through on "More Pix" at the bottom of the page, you'll get more broken links to more sequentially numbered strips. None of them load, and they go to at least "strip875", which makes me strongly suspect that the higher-numbered strips are just a template that was never used, and the 21 strips that do load are all that there ever was.
