We'll all supposedly have been dead for eight years.

The bigger question is, what will happen in the year 2525?
Will man still be alive?
Can woman survive?
What will we find?

In the year 2020, Hugh Downs shall rule the earth and the seas and the living shall envy the dead.

People will be basically good but have trouble being happy because of weird ideas about what they are meant to do with their lives.

Also, why you should not shudder when contemplating your life in 2020: You will be happily married to your life's partner, with children of your own, working in a career that suits your nature, and living in a place that feels like home. As you approach 40, your life is full and blessed.

Whoa, how did I miss that part??

'Cuz that's greenkoolayd's destiny, specifically. I haven't gotten any insights about yours...we'll have to get to know each other better. :)

Well that's a relief, I thought that was what everyone was supposed to be at 40. At least I haven't screwed up yet again.
-
Wombat, in the year 2020 you will still be admin. of this board. Long may you reign!

this might not help you feel any better, but the measure of a truely good parent is how a child generally acts in public/with other people.
thats pretty much what a parents job is, right? to teach kids how act in society/etc.

Hmmm....okay, let's try this: As you approach 40, you are single, with no prospects; you have never even had a serious girlfriend. There was a one-night stand in there somewhere, which you remember with some fondness but more discomfort. You work in a soul-deadening job doing...let's see...ah, working overnights at a print shop printing the same set of labels on a heatset printer; 20,000 labels a day. The heatset printer breaks down a lot and the colors are always slightly off-registration. You live in a rented basement room in Pennsylvania sharing a house with five strangers, males, who rent the other rooms. One of them has an obvious and painful crush on you. You try to avoid him when possible. Another one works...hmmm...in a bread bakery, but in the garlic toast area, and always comes home REEKING of rancid butter and garlic. The smell lingers in the air through the house for hours, even after he takes a shower--and uses up all the hot water in the meantime. A third guy is into martial arts and is always doing poses and katanas in the living room when you try to watch the shared television.
Is that better? :o
