Title: oldest Living Grammy Winner
Post by: pmcd9 on March 21, 2011, 10:07:02 pm

Is, uh... well he's no longer living (http://www.kxan.com/dpp/entertainment/music/bluesman-pinetop-perkins-dies)

Muddy's putting his band back together in heaven.  Legendary Muddy Waters sideman Pinetop Perkins passed away this morning.

I've not listened to but a few snippets of his solo work, but I am a huge fan of his work with Muddy Waters.  Particularly this album (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_Again).  But then again, I wasn't aware he was making critically acclaimed albums.  I only learned about his Grammy when I read his obit.  I'll have to give that one a listen.
