Roast Beef, named after a penguin breeding colony off the coast of South Africa
As the kids say nowadays, WTF?
-
The article states that Roast Beef travels in a temperature-controlled plexiglass cube, but does not indicate if the plexiglass cube has little baby incubator arms so he can grill.
-
Why would a penguin breeding colony be named Roast Beef?
-
I have resisted the temptation to research the answer to that question because I fear the answer can only be a disappointment compared to imagining it was named by the world's biggest Achewood fan that none of us know. Or even worse, that the reporter who wrote this article got the names all wrong. This story is definitely too good to fact-check.

Ah, well a little research makes things all the more wonderful in this case. Seems there are both Roast Beef and Plumpudding Islands in Nambia (and penguins named after each (http://penguins.neaq.org/2010/08/penguin-pals-roast-beef-and-plum.html)), and just as the cat of the same name would like it, the belief is that the islands were named as such due to the melancholy and homesickness of sailors.
