Title: Some kind of financial transaction
Post by: theinevitable on February 05, 2014, 06:15:12 am
Today it is occurring, as every day. [NAME REDACTED] logs onto the financial computer system to conduct his transactions for his job. He conducts these transactions for his firm. Today the transactions will not succeed. He receives error message after error message. A single bead of sweat trickles down his brow. The message returns.

error error error "HAPPY BIRTHDAY A-CAP FROM TOUAMB" error error error

Tears of happiness/emotional overload mingle with the sweat of frustration. He hopes he will not be fired because of his friends' prank. He is touched by their gesture but also reflects on why he uses his precious god-given time to mingle with foolish imaginary internet people.

We ain't heard from him since he was deported to El Paso. Perhaps he was taken by the chupacabra. May today bring you 99% of the party and only 1% of the hangover. Let Rupert Murdoch pick up the bill.

Thanks guys! Thankfully all my transactions have not failed. The power did go out, however, and many foul words were screamed before the generator kicked on. Most of us have have APC backups, but IT spent the rest of the day unfuck*ng servers and getting everyone back online. In a world where microseconds matter big time, 2 minutes without power was... terrifying.
