You know, the man-bun (http://www.achewood.com/index.php?date=04012016) is exactly the kind of holier-than-thou whole-foods faux-ethnic hairstyle you'd think Pat would be down with. But he wouldn't be Pat if he were predictable.

The ratio of ominous silence to Onstad's usual amazing corralling of the English language in this strip pleases me mightily.

Has no one noticed the genius that is panel one? As a matter of his daily business, before the interruption of status quo that defines the comedy setup of the strip is introduced, Pat is just hurrying somewhere with a scowl on his face. Literally every motion he makes is a rushed, unhappy bustle. This is a cat who is absolutely bereft of joy and serenity in even the most simple, mundane actions.
