@achewood Terrible dream where Bobby Flay came to my childhood home, danced on the table, recited verse, and we had nothing interesting for him to do.

My friend Ann is 4'11".

Heh, I thought I felt my ears itching.  To this day I can't pass by the shelf of Flintstones vitamins @ the store without thinking "What if?"

Though I will admit that the system breaks down around here.  In eastern Kansas our east-west streets increase in number as you go south.  The very low numbers are up near the river in Kansas City, KS, and increase to the mid 100s in the southern suburbs.  I just checked on Google Maps, and that numbering scheme continues through 399th St., which is about halfway to the Oklahoma border.  I think at some point you need to admit that you're no longer in the KC metro area and come up with your own numbering scheme.

Can'd for the fun KC factoid :).  I knew the numbers were pretty high once you go south of Olathe, but I had no idea they went clear to 399.  Kind of ridiculous.

I have a Human Rights Campaign equality sticker on my car.

I'm too lazy to actually order one, but if someone off the street gave me one of those "Republicans for Voldemort" bumper stickers I would definitely put that on my car.  Yeah, I'm that nerdy.

So far today I've slept in, played with the kitties, & made some lunch.  I'm gonna take a shower in a bit, & go pick up some fare for grilling.  I was supposed to get together with some old buddies from college later, but I don't know if that's gonna happen now.  I need to tidy up my apartment & do some laundry @ some point.

Damn. That is some heavy character development. Then again...I've always liked Molly, and never understood the haters.

Ditto.  Molly's a great chick, & the recent blog confirms it.  I loved the last couple lines.

Dear God!!!  Poor Lenny :(.  What a terrifying ordeal.  Luckily Lenny has such a smart mom!!!  It's really great that you knew what to do.  If something like that ever happened to my boys, I wouldn't know what to do!  I'm so glad that Lenny's recovering just fine :).

Wait - so they shipped production overseas and now they're crazy expensive?  Isn't that the opposite of what's supposed to happen?

Yeah, I attribute the cost hike to being bought by Nike.

I've always said that gay people are God's way of slowing overpopulation.

Back on topic - I thought today's strip was really cute.  I'm looking forward to Philippe vs. the bidet.

Converses are worthless, and have to arch support.  No one should waste so much money on a shitty shoe.

Oh noooo!  Converses rule!  I suppose one just has to have the right foot shape to wear them.  I have very flat & narrow feet & on me, they're crazy comfy.  I started actively collecting them around 1999-2000.  Back then, retail on them was around $25, & you could get them on ebay for even cheaper.  I can't remember exactly when this was, but a few years ago Converse was bought out by Nike & production was shipped overseas.  Since then, retail prices have jumped to around $45 for the standard solid color canvas shoes.  All things considering is still a pretty cheap price for a pair of sneakers.  Now, though, I only buy one or two new pair a year.

I'm a lover of all things Converse Chuck Taylor.  In my search for message boards about Chucks, I came across boards for Chucks fetishes.  With photo galleries.  People bound & gagged, wearing nothing but Chucks.  People doing the deed wearing nothing but Chucks.  People pissing in their Chucks, & the slipping them on.  After seeing that, I haven't searched for any more message boards regarding Chucks.  I'd rather not know what else people do besides, you know, wear them along with proper attire.

I also came across a site for people w/ sneezing fetishes once.  I can't remember what I had been googling at the time.  But I didn't go into the site.

An even better deal, in my opinion, is to buy big plastic tubs from Target or Walmart or something - they hold a ton, they don't need tape, and you can reuse them ad infinitum.

Totally agree.  I have several plastic tubs & plastic crates.  I have tons of stuff stored in them under my bed.

I've been ordained through Universal Ministries since 2004.

http://www.universalministries.com/

I signed up just so I could tell people I'm an ordained minister.  The actual ordination doesn't really amount to much.  Plus...I forgot all about this until reading this thread, lol.

No idea, A-CAP, but the lady from Torchwood is hot.

Also, I can embrace a culture who would name someone Myfanwy.

Now: My professional story about Wales.

I work for a phone company.  I may have mentioned this.   Every morning I have to make a bunch of test calls to make sure my switch is not acting in an untoward manner.   Every morning I call a Pizza Hut in Cardiff, Cymru (Wales).  I don't have any kind of family tie to the Welsh.   I just like the fact that I'm calling a Pizza Hut that's across the street from a castle.  I like that the phone makes the ringback tones of the English phone system.  Boop Boop....Boop Boop... I like that they answer with a Welsh accent and say "Pizza Hut, High Street."

I, like clockwork at 8:30am my time, 5:30pm their time, say "Good morning, just checking in." I always wait a beat before I hang up.  I usually get a response of "What?", "Pardon?", or "Eh?"  I explain that to coworkers as me testing for two-way audio.  I know, however, that I'm really just hoping someone connects this string of phone calls togther.  I hope that they're talking about it amongst themselves.  I hope that one day the response will be "Wait!" instead of the usual questions.  I hope I'm a mystery in someone's life.   I've been on nights for a few months, so I haven't been making the morning test calls.   Do they miss me?  I don't know.

I work for a phone company, I make mild prank phone calls for a living.

That's a great story!  Why did you choose to use a Pizza Hut in Wales for one of your test calls?  JUST because it's a Pizza Hut across the street from a castle?

I work for a tele-conferencing center & I like calling people abroad to connect them to their conference calls.  They're always incredibly friendly, & I love listening to all the different accents.
