I don't know how old this thread is as it won't give me a date, but to have missed a 'Dawg's birthday is a shameful thing. Happy belated, if so...

I don't know if this is the same bipedal dog as the one I came across a while back (reading this from a phone) but I was struck how much it made tghe back legs resemble an Achewood cat. Including the uneasy skinniness of the legs! Also... kind of creepy!

A couple teammates&gfs and I from school just watched Everything is Illuminated this way tonight.

You were capable of talking by the end of it? Such a heartbraking film, though not to say it isn't pretty much sublime. I was looking forward to seeing Eugene Hutz in a film, but never expected him to be excellent as he turned out to be.

Did they just turn the internet back on in the UK this week or something?

I did spend the best part of about 4 hours without it the other night, and we almost had to name a new medical condition.
In fact, its only in the last 6 months I've had anything over a 512k line, as I refuse to live within a thousand feet of another human being.

You know, I'd never noticed just how long McCarthy's head is. Darling still sort of takes it for the eyebrows and the fact that he always looks that fuck*ng miserable.

It's always nice to learn.

(And I can't stop wandering about the place singing 'I see a little silhouette of a clam')

I assume  (as most tend to) your router/cable modem has a firewall built in. You'd need to log into that (most likely in a browser depending on make, though could be I think it tends to be for LinkSys) and find firewall settings or services options in there.
If you let us know what make of router or modem I can have a further look around, but I'm guessing it'll be that if nothing else appears to be getting in the way.

Also, did you kill windows firewall in services.msc, or just by asking it to go away in the system tray? 'Cause that tends not to actually do anything.

Little P will slam his forehead into Pedro's palm and say, "Papa! Don't hit your [little P]."

That tickled me in a way which indicates kids might not cause the end of all civilisation. Your children give us hope.
I don't know why the only time I think kids aren't a terrible idea is when they're behaving like Calvin...

Apropos of... Well this thread I guess, I only never came back 'cause I knew I'd spend the whole bloody evening saying 'just one more thread...'

And now I feel loved once more.

I finally made it. I'm halfway through writing the post that for months now I've been meaning to show up to post, but my brain stopped working some time this evening.
I'll finish it later. But also, I'm here now so it would seem churlish to vanish again, even if I am yet to sit down with the sheer quantity of martini it will take to catch up on Achewood; an activity I consider a treat in waiting, but an ever-growing one!

Kyuss - Whitewater

Esbjornn Svenson Trio - Eight Hundred Streets by Feet - or Tuesday Wonderland, or When God Created the Coffee Break, or Dodge the Dodo... or any of a number of others by them.

The Cat Empire - The Sun - or basically anything by them. There are a handful of bands who I could happily go and see live about once a week. The Cat Empire I could probably do nightly.

Oh, and again, muchly anything by them, but Lau - The Lang Set is one of the finest ways to finish a tune ever. I'm unbelievably excited to be seeing them a third time in a couple of weeks.

Maybe that's where he went? Warcrack overdose... It seems to have got one of my friends.

Good  stuff. Hope you have a great time off in the real world of technology and humans.
