History / Re: North Korea To Attack Hawaii on July 4
« on: June 19, 2009, 03:13:32 am »
Don't forget that "Hawaii" extends all the way to Midway Island. All the Islands in the archipelago are "Hawaii". The missile in question could maybe hit the outlying atolls or Midway, but without a serious tailwind I don't see it making it to Kauai. Which is good. It could land in the ocean in "Hawaii" and we could call that a reason to take care of business.

This thread is why I read the board and not the comic.

If you can dry them, they will have a different character when you use them.
I'm partial to pepper jelly, if you know anyone who knows how to make it.

Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard and other Paul Simon and or without Art Gunfarkel songs are pretty good singalongs.

New strips bring the traffic mostly, in my opinion.

A-Cap, you make it sound like it is poor Golfhaus's personal fault. I am sure he has no price controls, much as he might like.

From the AP:
Gasoline can't go more than five MPH. Who'd have thought?

What the hell? We have gas here, there was never a problem, and it's selling for less than $3.50 a gallon today.

don't worry, we get the gist. Will the debate cover the important issue of Y-fronts for small mamals tonight?

Towards An Ontology of T.O.U.A.M.B, A Demi-Real Thought-Space

A Theoretical/Scientific Examination

None of you are real.

just now I ate the first failure of cooking in our apartment's history. Meatballs fell apart, fat rendered, what started as meatballs in tomato sauce with onions turned into... raw ground beef floating in a watery tomato-juice. My roommate turned up the heat so the meat was cooked but... that's about it.

ew, ew, ew. for some reason looking at it made me think of mad cow disease.

Did you knobs NOT cook the meatballs before putting them into the sauce?

Brown them up in a frying pan, then bake them to cook through. THEN throw them i to flavor your sauce. Always cook your meat before throwing it into a sauce. There is a reason there are almost no dishes that are called 'boiled meat'.

I usually don't get my morning online homoerotic shock at this particular board, but thanks, this will save me a few minutes this morning.

When we lived in Evanston, we only needed a car if we wanted or needed to go to another town.

We could walk to movies and restaurants, shopping and both the CTA and Metra trains.

I miss being able to meet almost all of my life's needs on foot. That was a pretty nice place to live.

Hey, there's the Great American Songbook which, admittedly would not include Canadian or rest of the world songs, but will have all the Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, and Johnny Mercer you will ever need. And all the rest of them, too.
