Isn't that what USUALLY happens, though?

I did consider that, but then thought, 'no, no one would be cheap enough to make light of the most terrifying moment of my life.'
But then, where would I be without this place?

The alternative to the above sentence would be...

I missed this, but I did have a roommate that tore my bathroom sink off of the wall, and then called me at my fiancee's house and asked me what to do about it. That was the mildew house (we had mildew stalagmites in one room that were actually fairly statuesque).

this year has marked my first ever living-with-roommate situation (barring summer camp work), and it's had its fair share of interesting moments; by far the most significant was around last october, however, when my (former) roommate burned down our entire room.

the way it happened was, we were both in the habit of smoking pot in the room, since we had a very lenient RA and were both into that sort of the thing.  on that particular fateful night, i happened to be at the gym; my roommate and his girlfriend decided to hit a bowl before they came to join me so we could all play a little ping-pong (not a euphemism).  unfortunately, they were in a bit of a rush, and did not quite get all their was to be got.  needless to say, we were the last people on campus to find out what happened, and arrived at the quad to find the whole school already gathered, watching in awe as flames licked out our window and fire trucks pulled onto the back lawn to try to keep the whole building from going up.

biggest fire since 1900.  they even made t shirts.

I don't know if you young kids can remember, but way back when we didn't know anything about any damn internet. We had know idea that one day we would have the resources to beam every little fact about ourselves around the globe for the edification and entertainment of countless people we didn't even know!

Long story short, I was way too hammered up to take pictures of giant mildew creatures living in my house. Sweet Jesus, man, why would I want to enshrine such an abomination permanently onto film?

My roomate, the smelly one, has begun belching and farting extremely audibly. I might destroy him.

I remember.  It's amazing that we believed life was worth living, isn't it?  We didn't know what we were missing.
