More of a move-the-plot-along comic, but the alt-text did get a laugh out of me. I'm wondering if Beef somehow hastened himself earlier and we weren't informed? Though I'm not sure how or why someone would ingest vinegar and chopped paper.

The book fluttering noise is the best part of this strip. That is a quality sound effect.

"A variety of circumstances innocuous to the common man". Fuck you Onstad for getting me interested in this arc again.

The absurdity is veiled by the poetic charm with which the poet invests it.

This explains why Beef would have to be concerned about the afterlife.

The Lash will send you off to an afterlife on a par with the exorcized in Beetlejuice or, possibly, where Mr. Sparkle banishes dirt.

It is the triumphant return of FLUT.

Yes, FLUT.

Hang on. Isn't Roast Beef already an Unfortunate Being? To me that pretty much describes what's been happening to him already -- death, reincarnation as... himself!
