Dear Friend of Achewood,
It has been a long time since you received an unwanted e-mail missive
from us, and for that we must apologize. It is only due to the heavy
labors involved in bringing you regular, semi-quality entertainment
that we have fallen remiss in our town correspondence.
The contents of this letter are thus:
* Ray is thinking of opening a new restaurant
* Many new things in the store
* Teodor cannot afford a new bass
* Several types have started blogs
RAY IS THINKING OF OPENING A NEW RESTAURANT
Inspired by the easy success of “Izzy’s Steak and Chophouse” across
the highway, Ray has got the dollar signs in his eyes and is drawing
up plans for a competing establishment over in Achewood Estates.
Already on his list of unique accoutrement are heavy Laguiole
Rossignol steak knives, thick white cotton napkins, Riedel stemware,
and ovular white porcelain plates whose generous rims are adorned with
a simple black “R” set in Copperplate Bold, with a small star flanking
the left and right of it at mid-height.
Ray intends to name this upscale establishment, “Ray’s.”

SOME NEW THINGS IN THE STORE
Lower prices abound, particularly on women’s apparel. New buttons and
a fancy patch!
APPAREL: Philippe campaign shirts. Nice Pete, in his white van. Ray,
holding a martini. A shirt which congratulates an equation. We’ve
pretty much got it all this time, folks. We’re also offering these
designs on a baker’s dozen of new colors and styles, including an
old-fashioned gym T. Drill down to the one that’s right for you
(there’s also a women’s gym T!). Kids’ apparel is another new little
thing, featuring our kid-friendly designs.

TEODOR CANNOT AFFORD A NEW BASS
While candy-shopping at Braun Music this past weekend, Teodor came
across a lovely bass guitar which he could not afford. The model in
question was the “Sting” model, maker not remembered, probably Fender.
It seemed lovely and simple and it cost around six hundred dollars,
which was a bit steep for his circumstances. At the time he had maybe
eighteen in his pocket and another two fifty in the bank. He sat and
played the difficult intro to “Message In a Bottle” (transposed from
guitar to bass) for a while before setting the piece back on its
stand, looking briefly at the acoustic guitars, and slunking past the
man at the counter.

SEVERAL TYPES ARE BLOGGING
A large handful of new blogs have arisen at the site. Read about the
hot behind-the-scenes activities of the Achewood crew: Does Ray want
to go camping? What does Teodor *really* think about New Order? Did
Philippe get sick in his bed last night? You can only know if you try
to find out.
