Wildwood is a wretched hive of scum and villainy.  My great-grandparents owned a motel in Wildwood in the doo-wop heyday of the late 50's/early 60's.  My parents actually met in Wildwood.  Then a few years ago when we were at the Jersey shore, I said "Let's go down to Wildwood, walk on the boardwalk."  Every Eminem wanna-be in New Jersey was there, and we saw three fights.  Also, every single shop on the boardwalk was a rip-off.

So, not goin' back there.

after a while I settled on

this woman who is in several of my classes made this extremely repetitive dancehall video advocating the use of this system for writing jamaican patois.

it is weird how when you sing it, it is much easier to understand. she spoke it in class when we were talking about her project (advocating this writing system) and none of us could understand her at all.

i cannot find any videos of people speaking patois at speed, but it is really... this is not a sophisticated statement, but it sounds awesome.

she was telling us about how there is a big thing in dancehall music about whether guys like "bubblers" (as in, bubble butts) or slim gals (...skinny girls). And then she sang lines from songs talking about how great either bubblers or slim gals are. I cannot find any of these songs, which breaks my heart.
