The interesting thing is that from what I've read, the advice to avoid nuts and seeds if you have diverticulitis (which is not something my doctor suggested) is an old school idea and not based in any scientific fact.  The Mayo Clinic info indicates that it's okay to eat nuts, seeds, etc. which is good news, because I really enjoy nuts, especially in a stir fry.
