Stacy and Leslie and things like that used to be exclusively male. Over time male names become feminine. It does not go in the opposite direction. I am not sure why people decide to name their daughters names that are considered masculine. But I am a crazy person, I want to give all of my children old-fashioned names that they will hate, probably.

My favorite customer at work named all of her children truly awful things. Indigo (male), Chess, Dasher. Why do you do this to your offspring.

It didn't used to but now it does, obviously. I mean, in a culture where people name babies Brooklyn, there are clearly no rules anymore.

But I am a crazy person, I want to give all of my children old-fashioned names that they will hate, probably.

They won't, because they won't know they are old-fashioned, because you will be doing what everyone your age does and there will be five Mildreds in her kindergarten class.
