You live in the state I consider to be my Home State. You are wonderful and funny and nice. You have a cute child. You were a founder of this very board.
I might have a crush on you. Especially today, this day of days-- your birthday.
-
Nicely said, InEv.
I can't think of anyone that deserves a more awesome day today than you, JL. Have a good one! Happy Birthday.
-
We know Pedro likes to spend his birthdays in bed, what about JL?
-
Don't you dare post today. Happy b-days spent with real people.
-
Happy Birthday!
And can I just say again how happy we all are that you came back to us!
Cheers!

Just a little? Please?
It is only 10 AM and I have had an awesome birthday. I am sitting at my kitchen table in silk pajamas with a cup of coffee and a laptop reading about how much people like me. How cool is that?
But I guess I'm getting old, because today isn't anything particularly special. I'm getting together with three other people with late January/early February birthdays next Thursday for an ice cream social, and tonight I'm having dinner with my mom and dad. (She's making keilbasa, which she had to bring South from Toledo in a cooler because you can't get real keilbasa here. It's a special treat.) Also I might get to go to lunch with my best friend after Little P's speech therapy.
But really, that's nothing compared to getting to hear the voices of all my favorite imaginary friends.
Although I have to say, Little P gave me the best birthday present of all this morning. Eight continuous hours of uninterrupted sleep. ;D
-
Happy birthday! Man, I don't know how you parent-types manage to make it through without much sleep... 8 hours, that's splendid for a kiddo his age.
-
Happy birthday!

Lucky woman! I wish my evil little dogs would do the same for me once in a while. Happy birthday!
-
OK JL, we can relax the rule just a little. Be better if we were using the phone like that one year, though.
Little dude must've known it was a b-day to give you a nice present like that. Mine wanted to play from 3 to 4 am.
Happies!
-
Happy Birthday!
Do we get phone calls this year?
-

...do I know you under another name?
Thanks for the terrifying birthday image, Choop!
Also I forgot to thank inev for the crush. :-*
If anybody wants to call me, that would be cool. I have verizon so if you're "in" (damn I hate that phrase) you can call for free. I'm a little nervous about posting my number here...but I won't be online much more today. So I will post it in invisible ink and delete it before I go to bed tonight as long as you promise not to abuse this information.
Everybody promise?
Uncross your fingers, Jough.
--> too late! <--

Dear JL,
As a new member of these forums I cannot claim to know you well and would feel awkward placing any sort of telephone call to you; however research has shown that you must be the founder(?) of these boards, and you seem to be a worldly person of good taste, even though you live someplace without kielbasa, which I will not hold against you. Today on this day of your birth, I wish you a good time with your family, and many more fruitful years ahead of you, so that someday when we have submit to our mechanical overlords we may be celebrating your 290th birthday.
Basically what I am saying is congratulations.
Sincerely,
Bjorn the Destroyer

Dear Bjorn:
Thanks. But you and the others would do well to remember that MY user number is 2. There is one still more powerful than I, and he is wrathful and vengeant.
Also he lets me pretend I run things. But I'm more of a figurehead than anything these days, just someone who's been around since small times. Still, it's nice to feel like people miss you when you go away.

Well, technically it's 3, as 1 is reserved by the board software. But perhaps I'm being too anal.
Anyway, may you get 8 hours of uninterupted sleep tonight preceeded by 3 hours of nookie. And may you go the whole day without needing to type or think: *weeps*
-
Awww, Jstr. You're so sweet...
*weeps with joy*
-
...do I know you under another name?
Yeppers. I just quit the old account when my post count equaled my birth year. It seemed right to change up, not that I'm posting any different.
Happy birthday, Den Mom.
-
Asher dude! I was worried you'd quit completely on us, it's pretty awesome to know that you're still here. (I'm probably the last to catch on to this)
-
(I'm probably the last to catch on to this)
Nope, no you weren't.
-
wow shit! I did not catch that either.
JL-- you get to hear my "oh shit, this is an answering machine" voice.
..awkward.
-
Wait, dudes! Although Ash was indeed born in 1968 (his number of posts), Sub_topical and his alleged old account both have completely different birthdays AND ages. What a headfuck.
-
Happy birthday.
May this day bring you great joy, of an even greater amount than the amount to which I have no idea what's going on in your user icon. In other words, near-infinite joy.
-
I'm also confused at revelations, but hooray nonetheless!
Also, somewhat-belated happy birthday, JL. I hope it has been as awesome as possible.
-
(I'm probably the last to catch on to this)
Clearly, you're not. I'm still reeling. What a birthday surprise!
JL-- you get to hear my "oh shit, this is an answering machine" voice.
..awkward.
I knew it was you! Since you didn't identify yourself I was going to be all "hey guess what one of you called me and didn't say who it was but due to my incredible powers of perception I have deduced that it was...theinevitable!" And I was going to be right. But now you've spilled the beans and my superior intellect is once again irrelevant. Ah, well. Back to reality, I suppose. Just one question...how did you get my home number?
Also thanks for the text message from smick. I grinned. Not unlike this: :D
And thanks to everyone else for the kind wishes here. I had a really fantastic day, relatively uneventful in the way that is nice. My son behaved in public for several hours at a stretch, and the traffic light fairy smiled upon me all afternoon. I never got in touch with my friend for lunch, and Mom bailed on keilbasa due to a stomach bug, but Pedro took me to my favorite restaurant and I was able to shop all afternoon at my own pace. I bought a wedding gift for my brother-in-law, three tops on clearance and some yarn for a charity shawl. I considered a pair of leopard-print ballet flats, but decided to wait and see if they go on sale.
A good day.

This is what happens when I have to work a lot. I just completely space on the boards and don't read threads like these until it is TOO LATE.
JL, I am happy that you had a nice birthday. More to come on this, since I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE. I didn't mean for that to sound ominous or threatening. I'm just saying. Birthday wishes abound.
-
um...
did I call the wrong number?
that was the number you had sent me in a message, that time we were maybe going to meet up in Boone.
Sorry that that was a horrible message. I just felt awkward being like "this is TheInevitable! Happy birthday, JL!"
-
Oh, yes. I forgot I had sent you my digitz before, inev.
I must have mistakenly sent you my home number instead of my cell phone. Because apparently I am an airhead.
-

Same with me and having a social life. Sorry it's late and all, but a belated happy birthday to you. Sounds like you had a great day, which is all I demand of... people-I-like's birthdays. I doubt I could have added to it.
-
You call that late? Amateurs.
Roll, Dogg! Happy, happy day.
-
It seems like a bunch of people had their birthdays within the first few weeks after I registered. I felt it would be awkward posting in these threads when I was that new, and then I felt it would be awkward to post super-late birthday wishes, but I really don't want to be the kind of crap dude who doesn't wish his imaginary internet friends a happy birthday ever. So...
Happy thirteen-twelfths-of-a-birthday, JL! May this day be as great as the day when I ought to have wished you a great day instead.
-
Dang i've been out of touch with the boards. I remember talking to you on the phone Jamie a couple of years ago on your birthday. Something set up by your loving husband. I remember it being a little bit awkward. I didn't quite know what to say. I was at work and I think I was in the middle of something that, well I don't want to call it important, but the people I was doing it for thought it was, very much so. Anyway, dang it, i've got much more to say now.
So give me a call 435/630-1561. You too, and you, and you and you...
Also, i'm still confused, is Sub Topical actually Asherdan?
-
It would appear so.
