I'll go with Darrell Green.

good call.  Joe Gibbs era Skins seemed good people for pro athletes.

Will this change anything? Does it even matter any more given how out of the spotlight he's been? How will the republican party spin this against Obama?

it took a republican house and senate[1] and a mandate from the people supporting republican values to finally bring justice to america's greatest villain, a villain that was allowed to roam free and unhinderedly attack FREEDOM and VALUES and THE AMERICAN WAY under the LAZY EYE of democrats who are trying to use AMERICA'S victory in a petty effort to politicize (RANDOMLY BLARING TOBY KEITH VERSION OF AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL OVER A MONTAGE OF FORD TRUCKS RUNNING OVER A GAY WEDDING) AMERICA'S greatest republican victory.

[1] i don't even know if this is true.  the fact that i can conceive a universe where my statement is wrong proves i am not a politician.

fuck, i was already depressed anyways.

Football: Brett Favre.  I spent junior/senior HS in northern wisconsin, graduating in 93.  i got into NFL football at that point.  remember Majkowski? the next white hope of the packers? and along came some guy from nowhere who fuck*ng loved to play football, and smiled all the time even though he lived in, literally, the middle of nowhere.  did he abuse painkillers? did he become (more?) of an egomaniac, or whatever? sure. he's a pro athlete.

but when i get maudlin and harken back to not being a completely jaded asshole, brett favre is throwing a touchdown to sterling sharpe.

also, football team: Packers.  i get as romantic and idealistic as the next guy, and when i do i can mumble like an idiot about how the packers are owned by the municipality and yada yada yada.  hell, i'm not even sure if that's _true_ and i don't want to know.

baseball: i can't stand baseball.  except that Major League movie.  so i would say the announcer from the Major League movie who used to do those beer commercials is my favorite "person" from baseball.

runner up: chip lohmiller. place kicker from redskins.  my mother thought he was awesome. i still don't understand, but i will always have a soft spot in my heart for my mom's favorite extra point kicker.

golf:

basketball: i don't want to like jordan.  i actively _want_ to dislike him.  but damn he was something, and he wasn't a complete walking shithead _Comparatively_.  for some reason though i always really liked that shooting guard from Utah who stroked his face before each free throw as a way to say hi to his kids.

hockey: one of my cousins. weak, yes. but all i got.

Soccer: Pele.  how many children have fucked up their heads trying that kick?

MMA fighter: Nick Diaz.  the embodiment of "if it wasn't for this i would probably be in jail".  at its base fighting is about trying to beat the shit out of each other, and nick is the basest.

ice skating: my mom would watch the winter olympics.  she fuck*ng loved scott hamilton(?).  i think at some base level that figure skating is dumb, but don't fuck with my mom's guy, you know?

racing: richard petty. i never followed a lot of racing, but the dude looks like if he wasn't a pro racer that he would be drag racing lawn mowers.

That contest write-up seems like something the OLD Onstad would have mocked. Extensively.

or something the YOUNG Onstad would have mocked.

jaded assholes change as they get old.

mostly they get tired.

i think every artist has an intrinsic right to be bat-shit insane to an extent that their worldview makes absolutely no rational sense.

i think that most, if not all, artists who aren't bat-shit insane don't usually make great art.

i think that the creator of a good or product of any sort has the right to say "fuck it, i quit" in exactly the same way that any service worker or laborer has.

i think that if a creator of art produces a product loved and adored to such an extent that his or her fanbase gets pissed off when they cease producing more of it
gets pissed off because their fanbase loves his or her product that much that they are bat-shit insane.

LIFE IS A CIRCLE OF LIFE.

So, I recently received emails from BestBuy and AbeBooks that say that Epsilon (an email database management company?) fucked up and lost control of their (read my) email info. No other information was compromised, they assure me, but they're investigating. Meanwhile my spam folder is now bulging with crap, whereas up until now I had a pretty tight reign on it. Anybody else hear about this? I'm wondering what other companies use these guys.

i got this from chase i think.

fuck*ng morons.

i got one last year from Blue Cross Blue Shield that someone had misplaced an old server hard drive.

I don't go down to the bus station and shout it at people, if that's the concern here.

no wonder you ain't happy.

when i day dream about winning a million billion dollars and my first thought is that i'll pay a construction crew to erect a giant statue of myself flipping the double birds onto the recently remodeled court square yard then there's a good chance that money will not buy my happiness.

I wonder if there would be a market if I could get this maniacally shrieking monkey in my head on tape?

yes.

if by market you mean one guy on the internet.
