how do you make a WHITE sauce out of CUCUMBER? it's GREEN!

The inside is a very pale green, though. Anyway, the marriage of yogurt and cucumber is one of the great recurring themes of world sauces. I read it in a book so it must be true.

I swear, there is a conspiracy at Greek restaurants to make the rest of us  feel stupid.  If I order a "jye-ro," they say "yee-ro."  If I say "yee-ro," they say "jye-ro."  I should try it both ways at the same restaurant with the same counter guy, and see if he makes me out to be wrong both times.

Hey, I hope he does.  What a great idea.  Anyone who has one of those horrible service jobs should get to do something like that to customers.

Tzatziki?  But yes, love it however it is spelled.

It's one of those things you find all over, too. Lebanese have it, Egyptians have it - all over the middle east and the mediterranean, and Pakistan - in India, it's called Raita. And it's all good.

Yes, indeed, Logic does beat bad joke, but explaining bad joke beats logic (and bad joke beats explaining bad joke.  rock paper scissors, kiss my ass!).

In fact, while i was typing that, i figured someone would point out that the INSIDE of a cucumber is not NEAR as green as the outside.

--

love the tse-tse fly sauce? no, not so fly sauce.  weak sauce, in fact.  and i don't CARE how many people or cultures make it and/or like it.  if they ALL jumped off a bridge, i, too, would not jump off the bridge, but, in fact, (use more coma's?) would jump up and down in joy that all the people who make WHITE SAUCES were in the gully, Down By The River.

--

Now let's disgust Bubble And Squeak, and Cream of Mushroom based sauces, and etc, etc, et al, ad nauseum.

--

wheeeeeee.
