Did Ray pick Bono because he and Bono are good friends?  Or does Ray consider himself the Bono type and, therefore, what's good for Bono is good for Ray?

WTF?

What is this dig at JB?

I can understand making fun of a pretentious fuck like Bono, but James Brown?

Hep me!

I actually just like that picture of JB. It's now my background. And yeah, the idea of being Bono's butler is much more ridiculous than being James Browns butler. With James, you'd be, like, the butler of FUNK, and you'd know kung fu and Dolemite and that sort of shit. With Bono, you'd, I don't know, have to drain the pretension out of him every morning.

I sort of laughed. Kind of. It felt very "filler" to me.

The idea of Bono's butler is in and of itself hilarious, but the idea that Ray is down with Bono is even better. Do they sit around and talk about their ART?

I just found this episode of "Fun with Ray on the phone" to be a little bland.

I have to agree.  If there's going to be "Fun with Ray on the phone," he should at least be doing something like pranking "The Born Loser," "Andy Capp" or "Ferdinand."

Also, Ray called James Brown ridiculous.  Umm, excuse me, but someone who's proud of being naked on the phone, lies in a gutter smelling like farted in vinegar or doesn't get the picture that shooting pool from behind the back will only cost him more money down the line is in no position to be calling anyone ridiculous.

James Brown can so ridiculous and you know it. This doesn't even mentioned that crazed television interview (which can be found at Ebaumsworld)

Mar 1988
Arrested, domestic abuse.

24 Sep 1988
Brandishes a shotgun at an insurance meeting, demanding to know who used his personal toilet. Police chase ensues, 23 shots fired at his jeep, with both front tires shot out. PCP found in his system.

18 May 1989
Arrested, possession of PCP, assault, possession of illegal weapons (Aiken County, SC.)

27 Feb 1991
Paroled from prison.

Mar 1991
Has a new set of eyebrows tattooed onto his face (dermapigmentation.)

1995
Living in America.

1996
Wife Adrienne dies from complications of liposuction surgery.

10 Jan 1997
Receives star, Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Aug 1999
Time at which former employee Lisa Agbalaya-Ross alleges James Brown made claims that he had "powerful testicles given to him by the government." How such a thing is possible is not explained.

Oh, I'm not saying James Brown is normal by any means - it's just that Ray probably has a bit more of James Brown in him than he'd like to admit.

Yeah, a big heaping portion of WHATEVER to Jorge, and to Onstad as well.  James Brown, even in his seventies, would cold drop your narrow ass.

I would direct your attention to the Star Time box set, or the live album Love Power Peace, for an ample demonstration of Mr. Brown's whoop-assery.  He's one of the most important artists of the previous century.  The man's got problems, but compare the arrest record with the accomplishments.   Compare him to someone like Courtney Love, whose trainwreck of a life overshadows her contributions to the world of music.

Come on.

Dear god!  Jorge, that made me laff so hard.  Did you know all this off the top of your head?  Cause if so, you rock hard.

AugustWest, does the government have any sanctions on bringing said testicles to, say, Canada?

all imposing a tariff
all frisking you at the border

And, Jough, I'm sorry, but James Brown is ridiculous.  Or at least his hair is.  You've got to give us that.

Good hair = whatever the fuck James Brown's hair looks like at any given time.
