Weldon seems to have won Beef over pretty quickly. I wonder if Beef's new, caring, responsible attitude will win Molly back.

Well, Beef seems happy and this only makes me afraid.
It's going to go one of two ways, Beef will find a new selfless facet of his personality or he'll destroy Weldon by accident and find himself mired in the blackest shades of Tartarus. Again.
Also, does anyone else think AIBO's are creepy?
It's the black lifeless eyes, like a sharks, or an ewoks *shudder*
Whooo! First post!

I predict it will end like OLD YELLER only with sparks.

In 'Old Yeller' did they shoot the mutt?
Forgive my ignorance of nostalgic americana, i'm English don't you know and you know how we are, self-absorbed and ignorant!
I can't see Cassandra being able to use a gun, what with him having been shot a few times.
I would imagine he'd choose to finish off Weldon with a lump of wood but be unable to go through with it.
I don't want Ray to have to kill another of his pets.
He struggled the last time...

(SPOILER WARNING)

They have to shoot Old Yeller at the end, yes.

That said, even if it doesn't last, what a blessing to see Beef happy at least for a little while. Maybe this will be the start of something a little better for him.

Sorry!  Over here, knowing the spoiler ending to OLD YELLER is such a part of the culture that not knowing it renders you ineligible for good schools and housing and such.

This actually made me feel really good. "Now run around and just have the happiest old time" is, I think, my new philosophy for life.

It's lovely to see Beef happy. He seems to have forgotten all about Molly.
But this will only add to the inevitable crushing of his poor spirit.
I don't want to see the poor guy lying on the floor again, facing the electric socket.
WHY ONSTAD? WHY?

Why the eff do they have to shoot Old Yeller?
What kind of family story climaxes with the shooting of a beloved pet?
I don't know, Bambi's mom dies, old yeller ends up with his guts blown across little Timmy's face, Gwyneth Paltrow's head gets mailed to Brad Pitt and King Kong eats the pavement.
What kind of a world do we live in *sob*

Don't forget the lemmings being herded off of a cliff.

Also, the deal is that Bruce Willis' character is dead.

August, Dostoyevsky ain't no part of American culture!

I like the happy Beef - it just gives him a higher platform from which to fall.
