Congratulations, Carlos! Hurray!
Anyway, saving yourself for marriage was a population control concept. That, and before we had SCIENCE people believed that you only had so many orgasms and then that was it - so you had to "save them" for marriage.
Now we know that is bullshit and while it is true that a woman only has so many eggs with which to create more humans they're going to be fertile for a couple days a month no matter what.
In defense of chastity, saving yourself for marriage is a helpful and useful concept
even today! Sexual intercourse is often treated lightly and has been for pretty much ever, but it is a big deal. The emotional, psychological, and spiritual bonds it fosters are incredibly painful when broken. That's why we have social constructs that aren't supposed to be broken at all.
As for casual sex, it may not lead to long term bonding, but over time it seems spiritually harmful. Or psychologically if you prefer. Kind of deadening.
I've been unable to do personal research in this area, but these are my conclusions based on observation. Lifelong marriage is the proper context for sex. Outside of that, it just seems to mess things up.
JL and I were virgins on our wedding night, and it's really worked out for us. Besides, if you're going to marry somebody and you're
worried about what sex with them will be like, maybe you should reevaluate how much you know about the person and the level of attraction involved.
