I like digital underground...

I did have "Groove is in the Heart" stuck in my head for awhile, and coupled with visualizing the video (basically big heads of the weird girl the indian-looking dude and Bootsy Collins or the girl doing a sort of epileptic dance while repeating the same phrase over and over) makes me ponder suicide.

Which brings me to the next logical concept: EYEWORMS

Visuals that get stuck in your head, often in conjunction with music.

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS video for "she drives me crazy" with the tall skinny guy in the yellow suit playing leapfrog. STUPID and stuck in my head.

That and the dwarf from the "Safety Dance" (I think) video. THe chick in the overalls from the 'Come On Eileen' video comes in third.

NOW YOU ALL KNOW HOW OLD I WAS WHEN I WATCHED TOO MUCH CABLE.

It's not such a problem now that only about 5% of MTV programming actually is music videos.

I still want to make out with Martha Quinn though.

WHY??!!

Perhaps, Dawg, it's because Martha Quinn, in the immortal words of Aerosmith, is F.I.N.E. fine.

Word

The 'Why' is really more for the dwarf, overalls chick, and lanky yellow beanpole. And the disembodied arms and legs playing drums in that stupid "Wild Wild West" video.

Eyeworms!  Instantaneous, detailed mental images popped into my head at the mention of the 'Safety Dance' and Fine Young Cannibals videos (and now we all know how old I was too).  How rather awful that parts of my brain are being used to store these things, instead of, say, Japanese vocabulary, or the names of half the people at work.

But, Martha Quinn?  I will never understand men.

She was cute. She looked accessible, like the cute girl that works two cubes away or lives two doors down. Not like Kennedy who I thought was a dude, or downtown Julie Brown (or the white Julie Brown) who were just too far out there.

Now, Kari Wuhrer when she was on 'Remote Control' with Colin Quinn... RAWWWRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Now playing on an endless loop: Neko Case 'Red Bells'

Courtesy of The Mayors mix-disk. At least it's 'good'.

Word.
I have my one copy of my 2004 mix CD here at the office.  Put it together, made nice cover art... never made another copy, never sent it to anyone for Christmas or otherwise.  Dork.
