Well, I'd just like to say that coffee would kick tea's ass any time any day.  In fact, this is me, coffee, calling you out right now tea.  Meet me in the cage at Royal Rumble.  We're gonna GET IT ON.

Enjoy your Folgers in the morning, while I am sipping on some high-class russian black tea.

I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.

(Seriously though, Folger's is for saps.  The darker than darkenest whole bean roast is all that gets boiled up ins.)

Only in Washington have I ever heard people call it Warshinton.

I don't understand it, either.

Dude, Governor Lowry spoke to my high school once, and he totally pronounced it as 'Warshington.'  What a tool.

Sorry, I was just stereotyping coffee drinkers.  Just getting it from work and shit.  I love really good home brewed dark coffee, but it is more expensive than tea, and I like tea just the same, if not more.

I drink a whole lot of tea, all from bags, and out of the common brands I buy, only one has a string.  Do you not stir your tea?

I don't stir my tea.  The utensils where I work are of dubious cleanliness.  The hot water in the kitchen doesn't really work, and we've all been doing disgusting things with our hands all day. So sticking a spoon in my tea seems like a gratuitously risky endeavor.

If I wasn't afraid of the kitchen I'd bring in loose tea leaves and a strainer etc and make something really good.  The whole point of the tea bags was to minimize contact, thus my distress at the lack of strings.

Hm.. can't believe I haven't done this yet.  it probably won't be well thought out since hell, it takes me 3 weeks to even come up with a top 50 albums of the year list which still ends up inaccurate to what I'm listening to after the year is out, but... I'll base this on bands that I've liked over at least the past couple years if not more (did you know I didn't get into music till around '98?  it's true... I had horrible taste before then) -- first 6 are definites:

01. Radiohead
02. Sigur Rós
03. The Cure
04. Knife in the Water
05. Carissa's Wierd
06. Red House Painters / Mark Kozelek / Sun Kil Moon
07. Boards of Canada
08. Belle and Sebastian
09. Stereolab
10. Wilco
11. Afghan Whigs / Twilight Singers (well, anything before this year; the past two sucked)
12. The Sea and Cake
13. Trembling Blue Stars
14. Gravenhurst
15. Hot Chip
16. Dirty Three
17. Fog [nothing is better than the song Pneumonia (mp3) -- the whole s/t album must be gotten.. the other two albums are nice, too but not as record scratchy]
18. Explosions in the Sky
19. The Notwist (really, just Neon Golden, but that's enough for the whole world)
20. Pixies
21. Tindersticks
22. Neutral Milk Hotel
23. M83
24. Slowdive
25. Built to Spill

24) Caribou

This one is funny because he went to school with my husband and I fed him noodles once.

What is his style like these days? I heard some of his work from Manitoba days, it was a little on the sweet and melodic side for me. However, Amazon suggested his latest album as two 'you may also like this' steps removed from this album which I really like. I also feel like I should buy the albums of people I knew before they were big.

Heh, wow. Neat.

His last album was my #2 of last year (next to Art Brut). There's still some pretty sweet and melodic stuff, but there's also a lot of Krautrockish stuff("Bees") and some Turntablism-influenced things("Pelican Narrows") in there too. This was actually the album that made me go back and listen to the Manitoba material, which I liked a lot, but yeah - it didn't quite have that much of a slight ominous undercurrent that Milk of Human Kindness had.

11. Afghan Whigs / Twilight Singers (well, anything before this year; the past two sucked)

I neglected Twilight Singers/Amber Headlights as I haven't heard anything from either that's even in league with the Whigs. But I haven't heard it all...is there a worthwhile Twilight Singers album for a Whigs fanatic?

18. Explosions in the Sky

Can for you. Have you heard Caspian yet? My favorite so far of the post "Earth is not" explosion (no pun intended)

It was Aeroplane Over The Sea.  It was alright, but I was turned off because none of the instruments besides the vocals and occasional brass had any voice in the music.  I think a solid percussionist would have contributed alot to the album.

The cover is somewhat similar to the second dream I am capable of remembering, at probably around four years old or so.

Okay, I may not have all the Whigs albums soooo I'm not the best judge, but the friend who introduced me to both also loves this one, so I shall figure my love of it (I listened to it at least once everyday for like a year) is justified- Blackberry Belle.  seriously.  just get that one.

I have a couple mp3s thanks to this mp3 blog, but it didn't grab me the same... I think I just was burnt out on the post rock explosion after EITS by this time.  I'll give it another listen though!
