Music-core sounds like an intriguing genre. Also, Nice Pete holding the pencil to his mouth in the third frame is very nicely drawn.

Apparently Lyle calls Nice Pete by his last name.

yeah, um, this reminds me of a band I saw last friday. This guy, who seems very nice but my friends refer to him as "zombie boy" (long hair which is always unbrushed, sticking out at all angles. blank expression. scary deep voice. lust for brains), was the singer/bass player. They played a kind of fucked-up country, with twangy dissonant guitars, a I-IV-V-on-the-nose bassline, and weird drums. He sang, and his voice was the voice of Nice Pete. he seemed to be trying to sing nicely, but his voice was so ugly, and the topics of the songs were so scary... it was basically awesome, but kind of scary. Also that afterwards this girl who I had a (harmless, shhh, it was harmless and now it is SO GONE) crush on was all up ons with him.

needless to say I am planning on asking to play guitar for them when the guitarist leaves (he is going abroad next semester.)

edit: I just remembered, he actually cut off all of his hair over thanksgiving break. it is now about as short as mine (1") and very tousled. I am not sure how we can have the same length of hair with opposite effects in terms of neatness. hm. maybe he cut his with scissors and it is uneven.

I can't imagine things going well with Lyle and Nice Pete. One of them is going to get stabbed in the neck.

Plus, if a high-strung jackass like Michael Richards can't take hecklers, can you imagine how badly Nice Pete would freak out if he got heckled onstage? I can see his little rock n' roll fantasy ending very badly.

So, they're starting a band that doesn't fall into any one specific genre and will be enjoyed by everyone? Guess they're starting a Beatles cover band.

he will be so punk that he will kill every other punk.

and then, in like 30 years, punk would come back. As a new concept, because like I said, all the punks died.

also, he will be so punk that he says that punk is a fake concept. and that if it ever was real, it died a long time ago.

(oh god, Melack, don't say that. I have some guesses of people who are going to post and say they don't get the Beatles, and think they are overrated. and then it is all over. no offense to those people, if they actually like the beatles and I am making assumptions. (WOMBY!))

Do you want to be on a first name basis with Nice Pete?

Good point, Inev.

Lyle's so worried in the last frame! Man, it's all about the eyebrows.

Who's the rest of the band? Spongebob on drums and Mantonio on lead guitar (Steven the Waiter on rhythm guitar and keyboard)

no. no. don't you get it, man? All they need is a bass. The rest is just what you think you need to have a rock band. You don't. All you need is a singer, and a bass guitar.

Also, you are right.

this is what happens when you are fueled by desperation and something in a can labeled "Monster."

let's be honest. I may have a problem I have never had before-- my paper is going to be way too long. Also, I mean, it is going to take until like 6 AM to write. Awesome.

So, was Animalicious also a music-core band? And can they reunite and tour with Mr. Band?
