Yeah, I cannot really see Beef, or any company, pulling such an elaborate ruse. For instance, if one is instructed to bury a diskette, how would one then stumble upon the virus? Did the computer notify the police? Did it access public sex offender records first to come up with a likely candidate, then fire off an anonymous tip via e-mail or a synthesized voice recording?

Perhaps this will be One Of Those Things that is simply dropped and we'll move on to Todd making inappropriate comments (please)?
