Oh hi guys! This is an entire soccer stadium telling our President, Dilma Rousseff, to go fuck herself up the ass ("Ei, Dilma, vai tomar no cu!"):

My feelings right now about the World Cup in Brazil: Totally worth it.

I don't understand some people's desire to shit on American soccer fandom. I don't much care for televised golf, NASCAR, or UFC, but I don't feel the need to tell people they're idiots or hipsters for liking those things. Whatever mows your lawn, yo.

I don't care if American's love soccer. I do take some offense to the inference that is commonly floated that American Sports are somehow inferior. Ho hum. Like what happened to me on Sunday. I was with a German lady who was nuts about World Cup, though not the German team, interestingly. I said I wasn't a fan of soccer. She said something to the effect of 'they have to stop ever 2 minutes' (referring to football). I don't know, I was eating a cheeseburger at the time.

I hear you there. American football has frequent stops? At least the players don't PRETEND to get knocked down and get hurt with regularity.
Same thing--if you think soccer is better than "traditional" American sports, you're entitled to that opinion, but I don't know why you need to shove it in other people's faces.

MO, YMMV: going to the game in person makes a big difference. I went to DC United games with regularity for several years (before the Nats came to town), and went to a few World Cup qualifiers and even two Olympic first-round games in 1998. The overall atmosphere is worth the price of admission.

Well sure. I don't need to be into soccer to get into the spirit of being at an event.

This ***** guitar solo! The hair! Ahhhhhhh

This video has the thing going on that I associate with seeing bands play in NYC. What's the deal with only wearing black and having only blue lights? Why are they so into everything being kind of dead?

OK, I gotta admit, my roommates played their first show in that kind of venue this week, and it made them look cool as hell.

You can thank Interpol for that.

Almost every memory I have of being in NYC, thanks to going to CMJ, is seeing cold blue electronic bands, and being cold, and not being old enough to drink beer.

Also the time I accidentally rode the subway from south Brooklyn all the way to the upper-something-side with my ex, at 2 AM on New Year's Eve, and then had to ride back alone. That was a good one, though, we smooched on the train.

I liked that, but there was something about it seemed like they were wanting to cut loose, but kept holding back for some reason.
