well, sure, but nobody's perfect. and during that war, everybody was doing whatever it took to beat back the bastards and bring our boys home. in light of all the work seuss did trying to eliminate prejudice and increase tolerance, that one misstep is forgivable; the metaphor i want to use here is an intentional foul just before halftime to protect your team's lead (shaq can't sink 'em from the line). fouling isn't cool, but it can be understandable given certain contexts.

Hence the important word "minor" in my post.

I went to school a long time.

But I bet you $1 there is someone here who will argue with me, and do a pretty good job of it.

I'll still be right, though.

No, you only think you're right because you don't have the benefit of historical hindsight to see how wrong you are.

That's true!

Cann'd for making it look like I intended that clever, witty joke.

Stay away from those minors lady, they'll land you in the county lock up.

Dammit.  Just when I fell head over heels for the cutest, nerdiest sixth-grade boy today.

He and the rest of his class were singing Christmas carols in the cafeteria of the hospital I eat lunch at.  I just wanted to ruffle his hair, give him a big hug, and tell him that while his teen years would be rough, his 20s and 30s would be much better.
